Just curious. Is it determined by soil levels or sq ft? Pads and absorb bonnets.

In a nasty restaurant I have had to use several bonnets on a 10 square foot area...that is rare though. It was clearly the table where all the kitchen staff sat during their break so they were dragging all the heavy grease to that one spot.

Depending on soil levels I switch out my bonnets every 200 feet or so. (Switch sides)

I use synthetic bonnets. Btw. Tuway "thin ones"

However just like you can just scrub in the encap with a non absorbent pad, you can use a single bonnet for 1000s of square feet. You just won't be absorbing soil after the soil reaches saturation.

If you were to use 1 bonnet for traffic lanes and one for the edging. (You wouldn't do this but try to humor my example) your edging bonnet would cover like 1000 square feet. Your traffic lane bonnet may handle like 50 feet.

Typically you will see your cleaning effectiveness lessen as the bonnet becomes saturated. When that happens, put on a new one. Also most OPs will begin to have a "ruff ride" as the Bonnet gets heavy with moisture. So the more you use your machine, the better you get at determining when to change bonnets.

I have cleaned Studios that looked really clean that took quite a few bonnets .
Then I've cleaned some dirty Studios that look filthy that only needed a couple . I do a visual about every 100 sqft

I have had good results using the gray micro fiber pads with scrub strips at 1000 sq ft each side on commercial carpets. You can bring lots of pads for large job or ring out pads in mop wringer if janitor closet is available with sink. The white cotton micro fiber pads will help with problem areas but are not going to go as far as the gray pads with strips and foam in the middle. You need a red brush driver and 80-100 lbs head to run those pads.
The white pads will be ruined when using on heavy soil CGD carpet and you will not always get black look out of pad. I use my 4 year old glad pads on cgd when I need to absorb extra on a commercial job or just use 2-3 gray pads in entry ways or a stained area.

Depends on how often you return to job and maintain carpet too. Just like when you use HWE. On jobs where you are there often you go much faster with wand when you are trying to cover 1000-1500 sq ft of CGD. A 16 inch wand and a truckmount will trick most into having FAITH they are removing dirt when flying over carpet-------but as long as it looks good right?
I have seen carpet look great after covering 2000 sq ft in 30 mins with one side of a gray microfiber pad.

Look how fast these wands are being used at this event.

On this job a 1 gray fiber pad and only 2 gray microfiber pads are needed with heavy soil 1000 sq ft.
for the carpet. About 20 pads needed for 1000sq ft of tile.
