Just curious. Is it determined by soil levels or sq ft? Pads and absorb bonnets.

In a nasty restaurant I have had to use several bonnets on a 10 square foot area...that is rare though. It was clearly the table where all the kitchen staff sat during their break so they were dragging all the heavy grease to that one spot.
Depending on soil levels I switch out my bonnets every 200 feet or so. (Switch sides)
I use synthetic bonnets. Btw. Tuway "thin ones"
However just like you can just scrub in the encap with a non absorbent pad, you can use a single bonnet for 1000s of square feet. You just won't be absorbing soil after the soil reaches saturation.
If you were to use 1 bonnet for traffic lanes and one for the edging. (You wouldn't do this but try to humor my example) your edging bonnet would cover like 1000 square feet. Your traffic lane bonnet may handle like 50 feet.
