The first 24-48 hours after fire damage are very crucial for recovery. Therefore, restoration should not be postponed as it can then lead to further smoke, water or wind damage and become worse. The professional teams respond to emergencies 24/7. A fire restoration company anywhere, will follow the same procedure.
  • They assess the damage to determine the structural integrity of your property and the condition of your belongings to give you and your insurance agent an estimation of repair costs
  • Develop a work plan and project schedule
  • Remove salvageable items carefully to avoid further damage
  • Install proper drying equipment to prevent mold and other issues
  • Remove smoke and soot from walls, ceilings, floors, fixtures and mechanical systems
  • Carefully clean and sanitize everything with specialized products and techniques
  • Provide re-construction of your property
  • Move you and your family back into your home
Stay in contact to make sure the repairs were done correctly and your home isn't experiencing any other problems.

Thanks for sharing such a nice information over here. After reading this I suddenly remembered about how the insurance companies denied the agreement made by my uncle after the fire damage at their home. The insurance company was just delaying the process and thus needed to take some helpful hints from the Public adjusters who talked with the insurance company for maximizing the coverage cost.

When we do fire mitigation in a home with heavy soot and water damage from the fire department, we always charge CAT 3 for extraction, demo, etc. Do any of you get push back from insurance carriers on charging CAT 3?
