Vans are overpriced right now, I never see units mounted in truck beds, what is the reason for that? Just bought a SS570 with 1200 hrs on it with all the equipment. I'm hearing that production was stopped or dealerships aren't coming off their inventory, having trouble finding a reasonable van.

I agree. But I was there too and trying to reinvent the wheel.

I had trouble finding a used van as well, ended up buying a new ford transit extended 2500 medium top roof for $35,000.

Just bought it 3 months ago, it's already been kept 75% capacity busy. So I'm just putting the extra money to paying it down. I'd rather get out there working than sitting around waiting for a cheaper deal.

My first TM (1982) was mounted in a pickup but I had side flip up windows on the shell that made access pretty easy.

You can do that in warm climates but where I live it will freeze in the winter.
