Hello, I am interested in buying my own direct drive truck mounted system and was hoping to get some advice.

First and foremost: is it possible to have this type of equipment mounted on an actual pickup truck? the idea of putting it on a 4x4 chevy with a crew cab is very appealing to me.

I have sourced a well maintained white magic 1200 that currently resides in a chevy 3500 that needs a ton of work and instead of repairing the van, i was considering buying something else to have it mounted in.

That brings up issue number two, which will solve a ton of problems for me: who does the installation of the direct drive machines? are there specific mechanics or shops that work on them? the carpet cleaning business i worked for in the past (zerorez) had a mechanic on payroll but he wasnt trained or certified to actually install the machines on the vehicles.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. I live in the Twin Cities if anyone knows of a shop around here that does installations.

Not good idea to put one in a pick up truck and exposing it to the elements. Installing a direct drive is tricky compared to a slide in. Just get a Hydramaster CDS and move on. No need to reinvent the wheel. Reinvent yourself instead.

thanks for the replies guys!

im having trouble finding a used truck mount within my price range. do you guys have any advice on where to acquire one?

i havea $9k cash, and ive seen some options, but im not sure which manufacturers are reliable enough for me to turn an income before any major maintenance

ive heard butlers are pretty good.

i also want direct drive because ive heard the slide ins eat gas and have crazy operating costs.

I have a small company that delivers equipment. On the advice of my accountant wife, I turned to a factoring company, https://factorforyou.com/trucking-factoring-companies/. It turns out to be more profitable than taking out a loan to buy trucks. After I signed the contract for factoring services, the company transferred the money to me. Now we have three cars with drivers, and I see that the demand for deliveries is growing, and I intend to expand my company. I'm confident now that I'll double my company and even more in the future.

for info. on direct drives get on the butler facebook or hydramaster facebook....(they also post used ones)guys up north love their direct drives.....but once the engine is worn down around 150-200k it will cost 8-`10k$$ to replace the van engine(if you can even find someone to do it)...thats why you will see these on sale around 150k miles....if i was in minnesota i would definetly consider a direct drive...as you can close the doors and keep the van warmer......

Can anyone share their personal experience with nitto tires? My 2017 Ram's tires are old and worn, and I intend to replace them. Is this anything to brag about? I'm going to get mine from 4wheelonline because they have great deals; how about you? What store do you get yours from?

Don’t buy tyres online EVER
They are old stock left over in warehouses
Tyres when 5 years old should be thrown away or replaced

Give the kid at your local tyre shop a job, buy local!
Atleast you can go and complain to someone in person rather to an email that no one will reply to....

Buy BF Goodrich A/T
Best mileage / performance / tyre construction and sidewall strength in the tyre game

Thanks, AussieCarpetBloke! I have never heard about tyres being thrown away after 5 years of work. I thought they could work for much longer! Thank you for the information! :)

Same story with wheel hitches and ball mounts - get yourself decent ones https://gritroutdoors.com/andersen-manufacturing/ from Andersen hitch.
Actually a great advice! Usually tire retailers send you old stuff(it might be not 5 years old, but it's gonna be 3+ of whatever they have. So at most you gonna use your tires for 2 years, and then ideally you would want to throw 'em away instead of getting a solid 5 years of work...
