Flash cuff help

I’m looking to go from 4” to the filter (current set up) to 4” to the door basically. Actually about 25’ from the van. I use flash cuffs but toss the hoses from the TM to the SS fitter box in the back of the van. I would like to roll all my hoses up on the reel with the exception of my wand whip. I have cuffs set up as male cuffs towards the wand. Flash cuff makes a 2.5” TM port adapter the goes on the 2.5” port and then you can thread on a 2” female. Works great. I can’t find the same thing for a 2” port. I would need several of these as it’s the same issue with my SS filter box. Currently I have the 2.5” port on my 570 set up with flash cuffs. The 2” is just slip couplings to the filter. Works fine but not ideal when I’m trying to use 50’ of hose to get 4” to the door. I must be missing something here. Seems anyone who runs a filter would need one of these on either end. Surely flash cuff has thought of this. It’s a simple adapter that they already make in 2.5”.

I do mostly residential but regularly run over 150 of hose. Lots of big homes out here and it’s not uncommon to run 50 ft just to get to the front door. The 570 has enough power but builds up too much heat at full throttle on long runs. Dumps a lot of water.

This is how I set up my hoses. first 50 goes to the wand. Then all the rest of my hose on the reel is 25 foot. That way I can get the filter as close to the door (sometimes inside the home) as possible. The closer you put the filter to the wand, the more vacuum you have. And although a lot of people think that running that second hose takes too much time, I dont mind spending the extra 30 seconds to do it.

I do use twist and lock cuffs that have served me well but I dont have the problem of the 2.5 inch outlet at the machine.

As a sidenote, the length of the hose does not have anything to do with dumping a lot of water. that seems to me to be a separate issue.

Thanks for the reply Mrotto. You use Cool Cuffs? I was looking at those and wondering if the hose side of a swivel female will thread onto a male starter cuff. If so it looks like I can accomplish what I’m trying to do. I will switch brands if that’s what it takes.

As far as hose length being relevant to dumping water it seems to me that the longer the hose the higher the load (hg) is before I even put the wand on the carpet. The higher the load on my 570 the hotter it seems to get. I run one 2” hose from my filter box. Filter box is currently about 6 ft from the TM. After reading your reply I’m going to try the filter as close to the front door as I can. I was just going to add 2 20ft hoses after the filter to a 2” Y. Now I’ll try the 20ft hoses from the TM to the filter then after the filter the 6 ft hoses to the Y.

My Apex 570 never has an issue keeping with heat unless I’m cleaning tile with a spinner. 35 degree day and fresh water tank full of 40 degree water, no problem it will heat that water to 100 degrees by the end of the first job. I divert the hot water bypass into my fresh water tank as its RO/DI water from onboard unit. It’s almost like something is adjusted wrong with it. Diverter valve, temp switch, bypass valve, ect.
