Facebook does work but you need patients and time to build an audience, spending money quickly doesn't work and the ones that do are always the ones that say Facebook doesn't work. I've been using Facebook for my business for 2 1/2 years and I know it works but it took time. Think of it like EDDM where people often need to see a mailer 3-4 times before they actually call, it's a slow build that requires patients and a budget plan to prevent throwing money away.
Jason I know it works if you put a lot of time into the organic end of it... get involved in the message boards, the drama, reply to a bunch of questions on price, kiss ass etc. But for a serious business owner, "facebook ads" - as in paid ads - doesn't work.

I can't agree 100% with that but do agree on some of it. We average $7k a month off Facebook, we don't post in any groups and only on our page. It is a bit time consuming but we usually spend less than $400/month on it. It has been a slow build but we have over 4k followers, it's to the point that even if we dont boost posts we can still do $2k/month without spending a penny.

I'm not venting but I am getting my experience out there so that other people don't focus on Facebook for marketing. Look, I have a proven website that brings in business. 657 people from Facebook were taken there and didn't call. That means that Facebook people are not good to market to OR it means that there's a lot of fraud in the Facebook marketing system... there's a lot of info about that online. Click farms, etc.

It all comes down to this... if I use the same exact website, and $500 worth of people from Google are taken there and it brings in $3,000 in business, and $500 worth of people from Facebook are taken there and it brings in absolutely nothing, then there is something wrong with the Facebook marketing platform or audience. So let this be a message to anybody looking for new advertising. The lesson I learned was don't advertise on Facebook!

What would the consensus be if it's working for others? It works for me.

Did you turn off the right column ads when you did this?

There's a difference between marketing to people who already like your page and marketing to new clients. Paid ads should be for bringing in new business. I think it's kind of ridiculous that Facebook makes you pay to "boost" an ad that you make so that your own clients will see it. You're better off doing email marketing for free or mailings to existing clients.

How much business in new clients would you expect to bring in off of $500? From people you have never talked to before?

Feed and right column were enabled on this one.

lets just understand that facebook is no different than yelp or other places. One can turn off friends and boost the add to new clients. you can also prevent children who are barely in puberty from seeing your ad.

facebook is powerful. when
networking
marketing and
advertising

for business it means everything

Any post you make shows on the people's wall that follows you whether you boost it or not but my understanding is that if it is a boosted post you are not charged from your budget for your followers to see it or any other actions such as like or comments.

I rarely get any jobs from my current friends list and no, you don't pay to boost an ad so your own business pages likes can see it. That would just be a regular post.

- Think your ad can use some work. Too wordy.
- Right column impressions is money down the toilet and one of my first mistakes in FB advertising.
- $500 at $10 a day would bring in a 4:1-6:1 ROI.
- Did not get much from FB until I started using a "special offer", 3 areas for $149, I'm still getting my regular pricing but disguised as an offer.

Alright bro I'll change it to your suggestions and run it tomorrow... I'll spend $100 on it and let you know how it goes.

Do you think I should keep that picture of my truck at a home or should I use a before/after picture? I'll run it for 3 areas, $149.

$10 a day my man. You don't wanna spend it all at once.

I like that picture but you're right about one thing, in most cases, your Facebook customer is not the same as your Google customer. Gotta do something more engaging on FB, make a post with multiple pics and boost it. If you have short videos, even better.

I feel like $10 is nothing. Average click is 5-10 dollars on Facebook. What is your average cpc?
