Don't think I'm just a spammer, it might actually be useful to someone. Especially with today's situation, a disinfection company is very useful)
A disinfection company would be useful, yes.

Hiring untrained people in and immediately deciding "hey, we have no training, or experience, or PPE, but we're gonna offer disinfection services" is, to be blunt, madness.

Yeah Mama, Oxi Fresh jumped on that bandwagon. I can confirm they have ZERO experience or TRAINING or QUALIFIED PERSONNEL to help them understand the ins and outs of disinfecting a home.

Damned opportunists.

Some of my local guys truly want to help, and I've been getting bombarded with questions about "how to do it".

The problem here is multifold:

1. If you're not properly trained in infectious disease control, you're much more likely to spread the disease than you are to knock it down.

2. If you're properly trained but don't have the PPE or chemicals to do it, you can't offer the service.

3. Since so many cases appear to be asymptomatic, you could walk into an environment that is heavily contaminated and not even know it. So unless you take full infectious disease protocols on EVERY job, you're risking yourself and your customers every time you enter the building.

If you're not fully trained and equipped for this type of thing, the best way to help is to NOT RISK SPREADING THE DARN THING.

Already the phone calls are coming in this morning - "am I considered an essential business? Can I go clean carpets?"

Sure, you CAN. But really, you SHOULDN'T.

Well we have officially shut our business down for ALL cleanings as of today. Yet all the franchises are going strong with doubling their marketing efforts.

In a way I don't blame them - people still call and act annoyed when I tell them we have shut down for the safety and health of our customers and employees.

Such Selfishness.
