I am struggling with the value of a CRB machine. I get it... It scrubs with counter rotating brushes, sets the nap, etc etc etc. But... For over $3,000???? I can buy NINE DEWALT 15 GALLON STAND UP COMPRESSORS for this much money, a decent used car, you name it. How much better will a CRB prescrub than a 175 rotary with a brush ring? Is it truly that much better, in terms of the visible results? Please help me get my head around this travesty of financial justice that the price of these machines appears to be.

CRB prices are absurd but you can get a Strong Dry for $1800.

I had a strong dry...6 months and the gears stripped...junk imo

10 months here. But I failed to follow their maintenance. So. I missed a screw being loosened, finally lodging it into the gears; causing it to strip. Replaced two gears for $44. And had them installed for $120. Still I am ahead of the brush pro price.

And I am not so sure the brush pro gears are any different. Pics are hard to come by. Almost evasive. It's like brush pro owners don't want to admit that they over bought.

A big difference between the brush pro and the strong dry machine: the brush pro can be used in a rug pit; not so with the strong machine. I mean you could, but the machine would not last as long.

Yes, Brush Pro s are only slightly better than strong Dry s. Just like Snap On is only slightly better than Stanley. I happen to be a Snap On guy.

All you gotta do is duct tape two Bissell upright vacuums back to back and you got cho self a red neck crb for under a hondo.

I've never used one, but looked at the Powr Flite multi wash scrubber. http://www.powr-flite.com/product/automatic-scrubber-pfmw14.do? It's a 650 rpm crb machine with a 1 gallon removable solution tank and 1 gallon recovery tank for $1400. Didn't like how none of the crb machines cleaned up to the base board, so I stuck with my 175 rpm, 1.5 hp rotary floor machines. Already have 6 of them, they're very versatile (shower fed brush, bonnet, hard flooring pads, etc) and easy to train someone on. Plus, only $600 (with pad driver) and $79 for solution tank.
