Does anyone get jobs from here? I have been posting with little to no calls let me know how you guys typically do on craigs

Most ads in the household section don't have photos because the people don't know how to do it. I make ads with microsoft publisher then save as a jpg, upload to photobucket, then paste the code to the craigslist ad. ...

last week i got carpet cleaning jobs for a office and a retail store from c-list, but sometimes you get people who want you to work dirt cheap. Weed them out on the phone.

The only way I have got some from craigs list is I only post web site address and once in a while I will get a job.

I do not post very often. Only when slow.

It does not really matter how many jobs you get considering it is free to post. So only the occasional job makes it worth it if you have the time to do it. Once you have an ad (listing) completed it is just a matter of copying and pasting next time. Less then a minute.

You get price shoppers, but if you take the time to tell them about your service then they usually don't balk. My area charge is $35.00. So most jobs will be 3 rooms, my minimum, or small ticket. But, it also seems that when you show up, they see you and your equipment they will add in areas. For me a $150.00 job is well worth the effort, they become a referral source and again, you cant beat the price of the ad - free. I do NOT mention price in my listing as with ALL of my marketing materials.

A funny thing is when I post for a while, it seems I get nothing. They I feel its not worth it, stop posting, then get a call from an ad I posted weeks prior to that.

Being a one man residential business craigslist is one of the best marketing tools for me. It really does work if you do it over and over and if you have a nice at with pictures. Maybe half my jobs at some point comes from this(non referral of course).

Rick, you can set up a free photobucket account and upload your pictures there, then just copy and paste the html code under the picture into the craigslist ad. Once it's set up, then it's quick to just go to craigs and repost every couple of days

Not really sure, what I do... is use microsoft publisher to create a flyer type thing with many pictures and text, then "save as" a jpg. Then I load that to photobucet. And now, thanks to Doug, I use his little trick to link to my webpage.

Rick,make a composite of your photos and save it as one jpeg. then you can save it to photobucket

Pete, glad that code worked out, there is however, an extra line of code at the top. you may need to mess with it to make sure there is only the jpeg photo in the info field no text should be in that area. C/L cant tell what a jpeg is so you can re post the same ad several times
if you need to and not get the "similar ad already posted" message. Just change the title each time you post.

I actually got my carpet cleaning page from web to photobucket to c-list. I cant find a copy of my last money mailer flier, i will have them e-mail me one in morning. That flier would be great on c-list. Thanks groutguy & doug and everyone alse. This was very helpful post.
