I have a question. One carpet cleaner helps raise money for cancer research. Another one comes across a cleaning client today who had stage 4 breast cancer and cleans her carpet for free. Which one was more of a "humanitarian"?

The online form worked for me and I have submitted it. I not sure my business would be the same, or even successful without Rob and truckmountforums. Thank you
Travis Teague
What browser were you using and what operating system? Windows? Mac? Didn't work for me using 3 different browsers in Windows.

Who cares? Why does there have to be a loser in this scenario? Why do you choose to break your arm patting yourself on the back? I'm not hating on anyone...I just don't get the endless self promotion.

The form cannot be filled out using Chrome browser and Windows 10. I didn't try another browser. It definitely does not work with Chrome. I tried to download it and fill it out too and that didn't work either.

I tried 3 different browsers Chrome, Edge, and Opera all in Windows 10. The form was not fillable in any of them. It would have to be printed out to fill out on my computer. Then either regular mail or scanned back to the computer and e-mailed. That's not a big deal. I can try it later in Windows 7 if you like, but I bet I'll get the same result.
I had no problems with chrome and Windows 10

Actually I did not promote myself. My son did. I guess thats what appreciative kids do, at least they did in my day. @StevenB. my dad was far from perfect, served/shot in WW2 and was affected mentally resulting in poor parenting skills. Yet if he was alive I would nominate him for raising 9 kids, sticking with my mother and working hard to see we were fed daily.

Now, if I was nominating I would nominate Todd. Yes, I have helped cleaners, community and family for decades. But over the last few years I have strongly monetized. Todd, has always done the above, and still does it for free. Props to Todd.

I thought you were doing fine until your look at me and look at him...maybe I misread it. If so I apologize.

My father is not promoting himself, I am nominating my father in this. I was the one who started this thread and I have put in my own recommendations.

It does only take a few minutes to nominate a worthy recipient, so thanks for doing so if you have. It is always a little bit frustrating to see forum or facebook posts where a cleaner or restorer is recognized for their humanitarian accomplishments, but no one takes the five minutes to fill in the nomination form. Also, Scott Warrington did a great job previously of summarizing what the award is

If you want to get an idea of what some of the past winners of the award were recognized for, I have tried to remember as best I can. Since this award was originated by ICS Magazine, many of the archives about past award winners were lost when their website was shut down. Some of these I could find more information in my own archives than others, so please do not let my lack of notes or memory about why someone won diminish from their accomplishments

2003 – Barry Costa – The Costa Group, Inc. Tom Hill – T. Hill & Associates - Raised money for Leukemia-Lymphoma Society – I think they are over $500,000 by now, maybe more. http://pages.teamintraining.org/vtnt/rnr15/bcostakpv

2004 – Randall Linton, Interior Care Services - raised over $1.2 million dollars for research into Sanfilippo syndrome - http://www.alifeforelisa.org/. Their efforts started several research programs which are now branching into other organizations

2005 – Neil Atkinson, Chase Carpet Care - numerous community contributions including cancer fund raising and research, cleaning for the Ronald McDonald house, and industry contributions, Chase provides free services to the public through various consumer advocates on radio and TV that have been bilked

2006 – Al Bradham, Carpet Care Services - huge community contributions to notable causes- still ongoing

2007 – Steve Toburen, Jon-Don - his charitable work in the Dominican Republic and when he owned his cleaning business in Durango, CO

2008 – Karl Bohr, Sr, Best Karpet Klean - numerous community causes in the Cleveland area

2009 – Cary Adler, Four-Star Cleaning and Restoration - Southern California restoration company who made numerous contributions, had a fund raising golf tournament

2010 – Bob Bonwell, Advantage Restoration - work with Purdue University and industry contributions

2011 – Gary Gilman, Steammaster Restoration and Cleaning - Gary has a foundation his restoration company started in the Vail, Colorado area that raises money for a number of causes. Since that time, the company has distributed thousands of dollars in financial aid and countless employee volunteer hours to local nonprofit organizations. Each holiday season, K-tech Charities puts together holiday food baskets to give to local families in need. K-tech Charities also raises money for breast cancer awareness and hosts the Pink Ribbon Open, an annual golf tournament that gives breast cancer survivors proceeds raised to help with expenses associated with their treatment. - https://k-techcharities.com/

By the way, several of this years nominees have very specific things listed like the one above - doing something for a single mother or someone fighting cancer, etc.. Humanitarian efforts can just as importantly be directed at an individual in need as for a large organization

Well I was told I received the overwhelming amount of votes but the humanitarian award went to the https://shop.truckmountforums.com distributor. Cant say I find that a surprise. However I want to thank everyone who voted for me, esp my son. I never sought this award but feel bad for my son and all those who voted for me. I will continue to help outwardly and privately to any in need as I have done for decades.

I would have never voted for the jon don guy, I love their service that they provide but they rip you on the shipping,,,, I bought a 13 drive pad , 43 bucks, they had to special order it,, so I was charge shipping to them and then shipping to me

129.24 is the total price I paid....... should have ordered it at interlink and had it shipped to store for free to pick up...
