I have a manufacturered home that we bought new 18 years ago. 2 months after moving in we installed a wood stove for heating and literally never turned the heater on again. We recently took the wood stove out to do some remodeling and I figured I would check out the condition of the heater system before turning it on. I pulled several of the heater vents and found that my heater ducts are made from a fiberglass fiberboard and are full of all kinds of creepy crawlies and a fair amount of mouse droppings.

My question is can't this stuff (the fiberboard) be cleaned and sanitized, and is it even safe to use? Or should I have it removed and replaced? If replaced how do I find a reputable company in western washington and (I know this his had guess) how much would I expect to pay for replacing the ductwork? It's nothing fancy, two straight lines probably 45 feet each.

Thanks in advance for your time.
