are we running to be supreme court justices?

2nd. flip this. imagine a democrat president trying to push through someone with this kind or record. republicans would be turning red in the face with objections

do i need to go on about tribalism?

there are lots of qualified conservative candidates. why is this one so important again?

if someone wants to argue full blown right {or left} wing that's their constitutional right. it's just come on....is this guy REALLY the best trump can nominate ?
If it were true, fine. But most logical reasonable humans can see its a political set up.

Not really, even saying that shows a very strong bias. Is the timing suspect? let's examine some motives. Well he just now got nominated to be a Supreme Court Justice. There are a lot of things people will let slide for a lot of reasons but when you put someone in one of the most powerful positions in the land they need to be held to the absolute highest standard which is what you're seeing with these women. They are stepping up and saying this guy just does not have the Integrity to be in a position like this. are the dems cashing in on it? absolutely but it's an easy play. the republicans would do the same if reversed. hell they rejected garland and he was a very clean moderate liberal. Also noteworthy you dodged every single point I made. they are:

1. What if the situation was reversed. Could you even imagine the Republican outcry if a Democrat president elected someone with these kinds of skeletons?
2. The tribalism...
3. Do the Republicans seriously not have a better candidate? Why is this guy so important again?

Come on rob, you can do better than this.

If you want to see a conservative Supreme Court Justice elected encourage People need to put their heads together and find a respectable candidate. It shouldn't be that difficult.

There's also a catch-22 in this situation. If somehow the Republicans Ram this guy through you have millions of very far left leaning people who are going to be really irritated about it and believe you me they are going to turn out to vote in November. His confirmation would almost certainly strengthen Democrat turnout for the Congressional elections. it's a similar mistake the democrats made in 2016 putting hillary up there. she was a lightning rod for right wing turn out

* my personal guess is they want a confirmation before november simply because of the risk of seats going D and the democrats then obstructing confirmation of anyone who is not a centrist. imo this would be a great thing. the SC should be as a-political as possible without bias to one party or the other. if the Rs and Ds were forced to agree on someone the chances of that someone being a higher quality candidate are substantial

You couldn't find a more respectable nominee, that's why they had to fabricate this b/s to take him down.
This is about abortion and it's got all the demonic forces stirred up.

My approach with this would be to say something non commital and listen. People who open with this kind of question want to have someone listen to what they are saying and have some one validate them. The job is more important than the confrontation, and there are plenty ways to listen without causing issues - phrases like Uhuh and tell me more come to mind. ppl are always ready to assume you think just like they do, and once that happens they are more likely to listen to you on their carpet as you become one of the good guys in their mind.

If I am going to say anything of a political nature I am going to know already where the customer is coming from. If they are watching Fox News it is pretty much a give away they are somewhat conservative. I work in the Florida panhandle which is heavily military and voted 70+% for Trump so it is usually easy ( my company is Veterans Carpet Cleaners). If I go in and they are watching MSNBC or CNN I tend to keep my mouth shut about politics. I do not care what your politics are I will do the same job either way, but if you are a never Trumper or hard leftie we will probably talk about the weather or sports.

Not sure how you get that when I clearly stated the opposite. Encouraging non-religious employees doesn’t equate to prejudice, in fact it’s the opposite.
Quote "we actively recruit non-religious workers as a policy."
Hard to read that any other way than religious people need not apply.

abortion is a non issue. the media gets people stirred up about it but no republican with any sanity wants to actually overturn roe, they may tell the public they do but they don't. if they did red states would by miles suffer the worst. middle class women and above simply would go to the west coast to have one. that traps the poor and uneducated into having kids they can't afford. welfare and prison costs 15yrs down the road would be substantially higher and you also have the more well to do people in those states who will be looking for an exit when the culture goes to hell. if conservatives are so concerned with life perhaps we should start with all the kids who are alive today with no families. do that and people may take the argument more seriously. anyone else do jobs at foster homes? i've seen the look in the eyes of unwanted kids. i've seen drug babies. let's start with who's alive before we start legislating what women can do with their bodies

remember all overturning roe would do is put it back to a states rights issue. it would also be a massive blow to the trust of the judicial system. i'm not even sure when the last SC decision was overturned. hasn't been one in my lifetime

ps you're being a tribal warrior saying "fabricate in relation to testimony" here's why. if you believe that testimony is not enough for a conviction i want to see you on the sidewalk protesting why 90% of sex offenders are in prison because most all of them are zero evidence all testimony. you think there is hard evidence when someone says my priest, coach, teacher touched me 20 years ago?

lastly. for everyone else reading this. it's a good example on why you shouldn't engage politically. look at how many EMOTIONAL posts are on here. people with strong bias statements. do you really want to have this break out in person and potentially have a no job situation?

most people do not have the mental maturity for an intellectual conversation and i point to this thread and many of the replies if you need evidence. conversations are basically "here's why i'm right and you're not" without a lot to back that up besides feelings

If a person can come back 35 years later with zero evidence only accusations and claim sexual assault with a very limited and selective memory of what even happened and no witnesses were all in trouble.
Im starting to get really nervous about the Valentine's cards i handed out in second grade.

^smart

This is simple...if they have fox news on cheer them on...if they have CNN on tell them you cant believe he got in...have some fun with their sick stupid thoughts... LOL

not smart. your business is ALWAYS about the customer, not your own bias

*back when i was in college a professor told me that no matter which side you resonate with if you can't reasonably argue the other side you don't understand it. if you don't understand why gov funded education past 12th grade resonates with people or single payer healthcare {the two main left issues} it doesn't make them sick. it simply shows different priorities

also keep in mind most beliefs people hold are ingrained by family and local culture. if you were raised in SF by a family that bicycles everywhere and has a low carbon lifestyle there is a 99% chance your own thought process would be different. realizing your own bias helps you grow as a person

a bit of a push but the jest of what you said is accurate. it's too easy to accuse someone. a good storyteller can nail someone to the wall and it's ONLY sex crimes. there is a book i read like a decade ago called no crueler tyrannies. had multiple cases of wrongfully and bizzare sex crimes. one was an 80yr old grandmother who was in prison for molesting a couple kids in broad daylight. case facts were stated. it made no sense what so ever. the detective and DA told the jury some BS. grandma went to prison for years before an innocence project freed her. if they will lock up an 80yr old woman on a bad story anyone could be a potential target

however in the case of this SC nom you have a well spoken doctor that trump has even referred to as credible. there are often, almost always no witnesses to rape simply because....well....if you were a witness what would you do? take notes or beat the rapist?

yes....but i'm also not running to be a SC justice. tons of 20yr old guys banging willing 15yr old girls. guys feeling up a girl who is a bit tipsy. guys really trying to talk there way into it. maybe being a bit grabby. young people do this or did when we were younger. i get that. i'm not an angel either but society is VERY trigger happy with this me too movement. probably 75% of the women i know have confessed to some kind of unwanted sexual touching / molesting in their life. some bad stories. some minor but that's a lot of women. they are going full tilt against it now. some kid will get wrecked for rubbing some girls ass and go to prison. i'm sure it's already happened somewhere

if any of you are single on tinder and dating. always communicate. hey do you want to? if you're nervous turn on a voice recorder. an accusation can wreck you. it's really sad society has come to this but you have to protect yourself

Could you please cut and paste a comment I have made in support of communism? I will be the first to apologize

Did it ever Dawn on some of you that I may have skimmed This Thread and found a strong conservative bias and argued the left viewpoint just to see what kind of replies came forth. The thread was originally about not talking politics at work which would be a very good idea for the majority. Unless someone aligns with you politically you would be driving off business with the kind of replies that I'm getting. Is it really worth it?

It's the THIRD time THIRD time THIRD time the low life Liberals have tried character assassination on a Republican Supreme Court Judge nominee.

1 - 1987 Robert Bork
2 - 1991 Clarence Thomas
3 - 2018 Brett Kavanaugh

Bork nomination failed.
Thomas was confirmed.
Kavanaugh ????

The Republicans have never used character assassination on a Supreme Court Judge nominee......NEVER......Many Republican's help vote them in.

Liberal's will do and say anything to stay in power. ANYTHING. They have no shame. What ever it takes to win they will do....ANYTHING.

I suppose you can say it is true that the Republicans did not attempt to character assassinate judge Garland. They just chose not to even give him a chance at all. I'll just quote a quick summary of that

  1. The latest Republican maneuver went far, far beyond any earlier Senate declaration. What they said was that because Obama was in opposing party, they would deliberately lock the president out of the process entirely, hoping to elect another president, though Obama had almost a year to go.
  2. Another thing that was absolutely unprecedented was that the Republican Senate would not even give Obama’s appointment the dignity of having hearings to consider him.
The question I keep asking myself is we have a country roughly divided 50/50 which by itself is a bit suspect. More to my point though, if things continue the way they are they are just becoming more dysfunctional as each side especially people who are far on their perspective side just dig in their heels. That a world you want for your kids and grandkids?

Could you even imagine the quality of leadership we could get if people would stop bickering over practically everything and unite behind common issues. The country divided keeps us weak.

Hell I would be happy if the majority of people could talk about issues and not personalize them. just stick to the facts and have a back-and-forth. No name calling, no belittling
