hey @ Scott W or @ Shawn F

what is the difference between original Citra Solv and CS II?

Just that the II is not DL based? why would one be used over the other? Purely personel preference?

I’ve been using CitrusSolv II for over a year now and actually prefer it over the original. It mixes in easier and it’s not foamy like the original is.

How do you feel when gasoline goes from $1.50 per gallon to $4.50 per gallon knowing that it is the same quality? The same has happened to d'limonene and it looks like it will never go back to the normal price again. We decided to reduce the d'limonene but increased the quality of the other ingredients in Citrus Solv II and not touch the original formula. If the normal price returned then the Citrus Solv II would be a more expensive formula. The original used odorless mineral spirits while II versions uses a glycol ether which is considered "green" and is soluble in water. We also included a degreasing non-ionic surfactant to make up for the loss of d'limonene.

I am old enough to know the Coke story. Coke came up with a new formula and forced their customers to the new formula by discontinuing the old. Citrus Solv was sales leader for almost 20 years so we wanted to give our customers a choice and not force a change. After the first couple of years the original Citrus Solv still leads, but the Citrus Solv II is rapidly gaining ground.
