My wife just finished her accounting specialist exam for the State. Our life has been in a holding pattern for the last couple of years. Her previous employer went under in and she took a position with the State. Great benefits but it also came up with a 2000 dollar a month pay cut.
Long story short we make enough combined to just pay our bills and set aside a small amount. She has attended night classes twice a week every week for over 2 years. Not to mention it was on the wrong side of Sacramento so that also added more challenges.
Regardless we've been treading water until she passed her class. Upon completion and a new position she will make at the minimum 600 more a month and a legitimate shot at recovering most if not all of the 2 grand that has been missing out of our budget.
Now I can talk about getting myself a truckmount:D. Oh yeah she was first in her class with a 94 score.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. The same thing happened to my wife 3 years ago. She worked for the same company for almost 20 years. 3 days before Thanksgiving they said, we are restructuring we no longer need you. They replaced her with a girl half her age. They where looking for a young attractive look. Me being the hard azz in the relationship, hired a lawyer without her knowing...

It's been a struggle and difficult to convey a credible answer when someone ask "Why don't you buy a truckmount...? I take responsibility for being in the spot we were in. We had mounting debt that was manageable prior to her employer going under. We knew it was coming my wife was the office accounting manager. She knew before the owner, he stayed in denial to the last minute. Regardless I was on life support with my company once the foreclosures set in my small customer base.
She kept applying but they wouldn't accept some of her classes from back in the 80's so ...she went to night school.
