Both seem like good options, depends how you plan to clean the rug and what equipment you want to use. if too much agitation would be an issue perhaps the gold and HWE would be the better choice

I have a rotary machine for washing and a extraction/injection machine for rinse. What is HWE?

The chemicals are for two different methods of cleaning rugs. The shampoo works better when washing rugs in a wash pit or on a rug floor when the rug is covered with water. The Gold works better for HWE type cleaning.

Of course, Bridgepoint's Wool Perfect performs better in either situation.

To be clearer, you mean that:
The shampoo works better with a rotary machine and a lot of water.
The Gold works better with HEW type cleaning, without using the rotary machine

Exact?

Yes, that is essentially correct. The shampoo provides more lubrication for heavy agitation machines like a 175 RPM floor machine. But, it requires more water for rinsing. The final result is probably going to be better if you have the heavy agitation and flushing system that uses plenty of water to rinse out the shampoo.
