So I have been wrecking my brain trying to figure out if I want to change my business name or not . Originally my business was only doing janitorial and my business name is Perfect Shine Cleaning Services . After a few years we started doing carpets as well and now I only do carpet cleaning and the name is still the same . Also my website name is completely different. Many customers are confused so I thought maybe it's time to change the name as well as the website so they're the same. I still have done really well this year even with all this confusion but it has been very annoying. I figured since I'm looking at buying a new truck and my current business name expiring it might be a good time to change it im just worried about all the reviews I'd be loosing and the amount of work and extra money I'd be spending. Thoughts ?

I wouldn't do it, I've spent way too much time and money branding my name, both online and offline. I would spend that same amount of time and money in letting our customers know that we offer carpet cleaning services also.

Depends on your long term goals and plans. If you are going to be doing carpets in that location for the next 30 yrs then go for it. If you need more income short term or your not sure how long you will be there then I'd just roll with it.

How are your rankings and how many reviews do you have on Google and Yelp? As far as the website you could address the change on your site and buy the new domain and have them linked to each other.

The website isn't ranking well and most of my work is from pay per click so ranking isnt as important. (Although I do want to start ranking the site as well. The business name however has a couple dozen reviews and mostly good ones even though there are a few bad ones as well

Oh cool how did you keep the reviews
I just went into Google my business and changed the name. There was some sort of verification process, a postcard or email, can't remember. But I was successful changing it in most online directories.

whats you name now
Pristine Tile & Carpet Cleaning....was Pristine Tile & Grout Restoration

The name change gets us many more cleaning jobs rather than tons of calls from people with unrepairable grout problems.
