Can someone give some pointers, for removing the electric clutch from the pump. Starting with the center bolt, can't seem to hold the clutch to remove it. (even with it engaged at the switch). So I need a complete tutorial.
Large pair of channel lock pliers. Hold the center part of the clutch and the pulley at the same time and then remove the center bolt.
If the clutch is still good then turn the switch on and energize the clutch. Now wedge something in the pulley and belt, take center bolt out
Just replaced my cat pump yesterday. Clamp a vice grip on the opposite side shaft being sure to engage the keyway so it doesn't slip. Unbolt the center bolt. You will need a special tool to remove the clutch from the shaft. I rented it at Advance Auto Parts. Screw the tool into the clutch to push it off the shaft.
