Can somebody tell me the purpose of a catalytic air pump on a prochem performer.. What what is it for, what does it do, and is it necessary for it to be connected???
It adds air to the catalytic converter to produce much hotter flame, in turn producing a lot more heat in cleaning. Without it you’ll have less cleaning temps and your catalytic will eventually plug up. Not to mention more emissions in the exhaust.
Stacey is right & unfortunately the air pump seems to be one of the weakest links in this machine. without it heat is very mediocre but they never seem to last more than a year or 2.
