I agree with ASAP. I would go with a crate motor also.

About 5000 hours if I remember correctly. I tried to change the oil every month. Little late on crate motor now. 4500 vs 1500 is worth a shot. We have it back together 90%. Gonna fire it up tomorrow. Wish me well.

Just make sure yo have the correct torque on every bolt and it will be fine

Wow I forgot how good it sounded when it was new. It was a lot of work but the satisfaction is worth it. Saving 3k+ don't hurt either. It really humms nice. Anyone know the proper break in time? I was thinking about 25 hours before putting a load on it.

A good product to once a year or two is "Bg Quick Clean" http://www.bgprod.com/products/engineoil.html

You put in motor oil and run prior to changing. It cleans all the sludge, contamination, etc from the motor.

Along with regular oil changes this will help any motor.

Most motors about 500 miles for break in.

I have been told about 1 hour is equivalent to 50 hours.

Also you should vary the rpms during break-in. Don't just run a constant speed the whole time. Change the rpms around every 5 minutes or so.

25 hours should be plenty

Dual belts. Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think any White Magics ever had couplers.
