Mercury 175 should be okYou sound like you have used most to everything. Do you know if Mercury is a good brand? Saw this on craigslist and looking to get my start with VLM. Only 175 I see for sale so far is a Mercury Lo Boy 175 and its 3 hours to it. I could maybe get it for 400 though.
Will try to barter him down for the 175. But don't want to end up with that if it's too violent like you were describing
Green brush would be ok for some carpet but too stiff for othersWhat everyones thoughts on using Oreck orbiter with green brush for agitation? Can it damage carpets? Iv'e heard mixed opinions.
Mercury 175 should be ok
I doubt a 175 would be too violent but what size is it
20'' is big and would be difficult to use on most occupied residential
And what condition is the 175 in
You don't want to take a beat up dirty 175 into a paying customers house

Both of these guys use a 175 for VLMI ended up getting a 17" Mercury off Craigslist. Don't think it was ever used, guy said his apartment couldn't run it well without throwing switches and that's all he got it for.
What's your agitation pad and extracting bonnet of choice now? I ended up starting with carpet details as chem. Your thread is a gold mine of information for VLM.
