Many things are debated in the carpet cleaning industry. Who makes the best portable carpet cleaning machine? Who makes the best truck mount carpet cleaning machine? Whats the best pre-agitation tool for carpet cleaning? Whats the best prespray for carpet cleaning? The controversy goes on and on and on and on. But when it come stop hose reels there is one flat out winner. Who?

Innovative Reels. Innovative Reels has set the bar so high that I seriously doubt that anyone will ever come close in my generation. They are that good and that innovative. Don't believe me? Watch this video. Oh and check out the take after the video is over. :)

If you don't want to watch the video feel free to read my script :)

Space-The final frontier for carpet cleaners. Often sought after but seldom found. One of the biggest killers of space is hose reels. Current hose reels are outdated! Poor function - Poor construction & poor materials lead to premature wear and costs! It's time for innovation. Hi Im Rob Allen w/Truckmountforums welcome to the TMF Spot Light for Reel innovations. (Go to Spotlight intro)

Reel Innovations have raised the bar to unreachable heights by patenting several new space saving innovative features. Starting off with their revolutionary adjustable capacity reels. No need to worry about outgrowing your reel. Now you don’t have to buy another reel! Just buy a kit and add 50-? more feet within an hour or two! The 2nd patented innovation is Dual Capacity reels. Now you no longer have to mix a cumbersome 2.5” hose with a 2” hose. By adding a 3rd hoop say goodbye to tangled hoses for good! The 3rd patent brings the whole peace together. Their innovative axle bearing retainer,on both sides I might add, prevents the frame from expanding over time and allows smooth effortless reeling.

Now all of this would be of no value if it was made poorly. But no need to worry. They exceeded current hose reels manufacturers by a mile. Instead of 3/4” tubing they use 1”. The front and rear foot plates are heavy gauge steel that resist rust and eventual failure. They are also available in electric rewind. Here they incorporated another innovative space saving feature. Instead of cheap mounting brackets on the sides of the reel they have moved it to the middle of the reel. Using thick heavy gauge steel and a more powerful motor creates a win win for space and longevity!

However they just couldn’t leave well enough alone and exceeded all expectations by making them available in 2 heights-52” for standard vans and 56” for taller vans. They hold 25% more hose than the reels in our industry now. The small 52” 16.5” wide footprint holds an impressive 250’ of hose. The 56” holds a staggering 350’ of hose! But to top it off they are all sprayed with a durable powder coat in your choice of 4 colors to match virtually any set up today. Black, red, blue or Titanium.

What about solution hoses and fresh water hoses? They take up a lot of space too. No need to worry. Reel Innovations has you covered there too! Available in the standard but in a more narrow frame design and the ultimate space saver, low profile solution & fresh water reels. Starting with the standard narrow with a 20” diameter easily holds 300’ of solution hose or 200’ of 3/8’s fresh water hose. Add to that a patented "Hidden live swivel” feature that not only keeps the swivel enclosed and protected but reduces the overall width by 3”. Two great space savers in one new reel!

But for the ultimate be sure to check out the Low Profile Series reels! At a measly 15 1/2” wide you can put 250’ of 1/4” solution line or over 150' of 3/8” water hose. Move up to the 17 1/2” version and you can get a mind boggling 300’ of solution or 200’ of fresh water hose! Both version come with a soft ergonomic swivel handle. Using the TMF triangle setup I prefer you can see with all reels and even a fresh water tank I still have room for your choice of a rotary such as Rotovac or T-Rex,Brush Pro,Spinner and CX 15!

But now you may be saying Rob you mentioned space saving. I see the space saving in the vacuum reels and even in the narrow solution and water reels. But where can I put them to save the maximum amount of space? Well leave it to Reel Innovations to come up with ceiling mounting brackets to get the reels off the floor and out of your way when needed. These are no ordinary cheap brackets, make from heavy gauge steel they not only easily support the reels but can support items like spinners, wands, seal a door and much more. Watch for our how to organize your truck video coming soon.

So at the beginning we said Space was the final frontier. Reel Innovations has gone deeper into space savings than any other company leaving its competitors in the vortex of black hole. Space was the final frontier for carpet cleaners until Reel Innovations came along. I’m Rob Allen w/Truckmountforums and Reel Innovations is TMF approved!

I Think these reels kick some serious butt Rob thank god somebody is finally stepping up to the plate on this... I see just one issue with the reels on your truck though rob... The brass 90 angle swivels... those look like the same cheap chinese ones that come on cox reels nowadays and I can tell you if that is what they are they will leak in a few short months and blow seals shortly after....anyone purchasing these reels should upgrade to the stainless swivels with grease fittings Made by "Super Swivels" or reel innovations could prove themselves to truley be the best by providing their reels shipped with the best swivels available...it just does not make sense to build the best reels and ship them with the worst swivels....

here is the super swivel website...

Well they better be pretty darned special to beat out the super swivels...lol.. I have seen those things last years...and they are now rebuildable so all you need to do is throw a repair kit in you,re toolbox and you never need to worry about replacing the swivel...

And rob shame on you for building this glorious rig and putting that cheapo brass swivel on there....god do I need to come over there and show you how it,s done? :)

So, reel innovations, is that duane oxley?
Duane Oxley is the first that I know of to come up with hose reels mounted from the roof of the van. I do have a set from Duane and they are still hanging there :D.
Yes its Duane Ivan. Guy is a genius and having Randys help as his partner his delivery times should be on point.

JD the next van I am building is going to be the same Nissan but with a Prochem Legend GT that has a belly tank for fresh water. We are going to hang the reels including the vacuum. I can only imagine how much space this van will have. I'll take pics and videos when done for sure.

there's one problem with the low profile solution reels however.. It's not so much a reel innovations problem, just a problem with the concept in general.. If you have quick connects on your hose, it will not work.. I found this out the hard way..
If you roll on one single piece of 250 hose it will work I guess, but how many carpet cleaners do this?
It is a very tight bend radius around a reel like this.. It almost looked as if it would work at first as the crimp with bend restricter and coupler sorta followed the curve of the reel, but when you connect it to the next hose..... no way.... this makes a rigid piece that is approaching a foot long.. Maybe not quite, but I can tell you that it is WAY too long to follow that tight of a bend radius, it simply will not work period. So if you have any plans of doing this, you better be doing a live reel with all your hose as one continuous piece

Be careful about this Rob.. I tried it out the back, and this creates some unforeseen issues..I have a cds, so I was out the side.. I tried out the back when I got Randy's reel thinking it would be nice to back up and pull straight off to the garage in the rain and such...The problem with this is if you roof mount the reel, the supports go,across the width of the van lowering your walk space significantly, and you can no longer easily clip rakes and grout scrubbers to the roof..
Now out the side( which I went back to due to poor use of space) it is a good idea as it is right behind my cds, and you can't walk there anyway so you lose nothing... I was so much happier with it once I went this way.. not sure of the practicality of this for a slide in however.. just food for thought...
