Just thought I'd post this to remind everyone to be cautious when working around your hot exhaust pipes. I just touched mine for a split second when reaching for something.

I would get that looked at. Had some bad burns, but that one just looks wrong.
I've thought about that, but the swelling is going down and seems like it's on the mend. It sure doesn't take long to fry the skin. If pain persists I will definitely see a doc.

Worst burn I had was black gun powder... screwing around one new years making home made firecrackers... Im here to tell you being scalded by hot hoses and pipes is a cake walk compared to powder burn. I had to keep my hand submerged in glass of ice water for about 15 hours.... otherwise the throbbing was intolerable and I have a high pain threshold...

i built a bumper for my truck for off roading. i just finished welding the bracket. i got up to get something i forget. but i picked up the bumper and carried it by the weld about 10' and I felt extreme pain. I dropped the bumper and ran to grab ice. i'll never forget that smell of burnt flesh.

you know what it smells like?

Chicken hahaha! I was crying in pain and laughing at my dumb ass at the same time. beers and welding don't mix. for me any way.

Nick, do you have pictures of your bumper? My dad owns a welding/fabricating shop and is designing one for my younger brother's truck. Also my dad is converting me into a Jeep enthusiast so we're into the off roading thing :)
No. that things long gone. it was on an 86 s-10 blazer 8" lift. got rid of it in the late 90's. all it was. was an 2 x 6 x 1/4" steel tube with 3/8 steel bar for brackets. I did weld d- rings on. they came in handy.

i did build a nice one for my old 93 250. i bent 3/16 steel to shape of original front bumper. looked like one you would buy now online. but unfortunately this was before cell phones took pics lol. we were still chirping people with 2 way Nextel. I have pictures laying around somewhere but nothing in detail. that one needed alot of gussets I remember. that's where the strength comes from. a Plymouth voyager an attest to that. f 250 went 2 and 0.
