Hello

Just had my website done up a few months ago. Am trying to get it to rank in google. Am trying to do some seo. Am not good at this stuff. If I have a business page on facebook with my website linked to the page, is that considered a backlink?

Or if I link my website to a forum like this one, is that a backlink? Please give me some examples of how you backlink your websites. I have watched youtube vids but still don't understand lol o_O

I appreciate it guys.

I'll leave a link of my website below, though I doubt that will help it rank, as I'm in Australia.

Yes Facebook is a back link. Make a Google+, Bing, yahoo, yelp, youtube, and go to yext.Com type in your info and make a list of all the sites you don't pop up on and create a free biz listing on all the ones you can.

Make sure you copy and paste the same info on all the sites and have the same hours of operations, and post pics when you can. This is a tedious thing but is beneficial over time.

Just remember with Yext - don't click on their links - go directly to the source.
1st and foremost - make sure your on page optimization is dead on - many times that is enough. Are you using a SEO plugin? Your competition all are.
Get listed in as many directory sites as you can - try and get a few of them local if possible. Your competition only has under 30 citations so get around 50 or so.
MAKE SURE your NAP (name address ph# matches EXACTLY on your site - G biz page and citations. Fill out your G biz page fully.
Get a YT channel and make and post videos - fill out the description of the vids - take a look at the top vids and see how they filled them out - nice and long description.

Thanks for the advice.

On page optimization, is that like key words, photos on pages, over 500 words per page type of things?

What is an seo plugin? I know that when I look at my website editor, it sez I have 2 plugins.. not sure that, that is what you are talking about though.

It's all so new to me, but I'll get there. I'll have a look online to see if I can understand optimization and plugins.

Cheers Bob.

Properly named and tagged images. 500-1000 words are good. Go to plugins - add new and search for all in one seo. Lots of guys use Yoast but I like all in one better. Best thing to do is go on YT and look for tutorials. Honestly - time better spent getting new clients than doing SEO - it's a whole nother industry.

How good are you with the Yoast SEO plugin Bob? I'm gonna need help with mine once I'm done writing out content.
