I was thinking about approaching carpet outlets and asking them if they wanted to offer their customers a free cleaning with every purchase and install from their store.

I would do the cleaning (within a year after the install) for a low price that the outlet would pay me for and walk away with a customer.

It's a win win win for everyone.

Any thoughts?

@Steve Toburen has a wonderful report and how to on just such a program.

He uses a slightly different angle.
I am sure he will be along soon to post the link with all the how to details.

Like any marketing program,
it takes time, and vigilant persistence to see lasting results.

Good to hear. I'm looking forward to it.

After going to SFS i had a deal set up with one here for a spotter program with every sale.
BUT i chickened out as it would have been about $1k month.

Still wonder about that one....

The only hiccup I see is that most customers wouldn't use it at all, and even fewer with in a year later. It would have to be centered around the carpet manufacturer warranty. The difficulty becomes you won't be able to track the results for a while. If you want to do this, I would try it at one or 2 stores before putting in a ton of effort and if it makes sense start adding more stores in 1 or 2 years from now.

I think a spot and spill approach would be better than the mill warranty approach. Spot n spill only means you don't have to clean the entire home too.
