With the vac hose being electric, I think that the fat lady is singing. It's all over for other reels. I still think that they should build one to go on the other side of the van.
Yes it is electric. Here is the cool thing Alex. The bracket for the electric motor is placed in the middle of the reel so the reel can be placed on either side. Plus it's not some cheap thin plate. It's a solid bracket that is powder coated also.

Those are some really nice reels! Since I've had my truckmount I think winding up hoses are the worst part about cleaning carpet. But it still beats the heck out of using a portable! Lol. Do you have trouble heading your knuckles on the one mounted on the ceiling?

I just might invest in a new reel setup and get it installed the same time you come back. Be sure to let me know the next time you come, so I can plan accordingly

it looks like the vac hose would rub on the water hose when being pulled out unless you were standing right next to the van.
Yes David it will rub (not bad tho) the top reel a little if you pull straight into a home. However it does not rub if you unload your hoses the way I teach my techs as in the video below.

And it does not rub when you reel the hose in.

Dumb questions...

1) My vac hose reel has a water tank under/around it, which seems to save WAY more space than the original pic. Rob has WAY more experience in the industry than I ever will, but why not just do that and save the space?

2) What is the purpose of the 2nd solution hose/reel. I only have one (again, integrated into my hose reel) and have never needed a second one?

1) Great set up! (I already had the tank. Plus my next machine has a belly tank)
2) The 2nd line is a live fresh water reel.
