What booster did you use
How was the suction
Very impressed
No booster sapphire scientific 870 on high engine speed.Vacuum was good. Don’t have a gauge to test at the wand but 13 HG at the machine. Obviously not the same vacuum power as 200 for it but very strong for 500.

Nice. We did a 450 foot hose run with Jeff’s 870 a couple years ago at a job of mine. I did the same job last year using my truckmount with a 33 blower. The crazy thing is the suction at 450 feet was almost identical between both the machines.

Suction or lift will be about the same....cfm is what makes all the difference, 870 cfm is what separates that machine from the smaller ones. Smaller machine is going to make as good of a vac seal as an 870 but with smaller machines the extracted water has a good chance of rolling in the head of the wand on those longer or elevated runs. Love my 870

Any machine that's capable of holding 12-14 hg at the machine is going to have the same performance at the end of the vacuum line. The difference is the 870 could probably do 2 hose runs with that performance

H o w big is the blower on the 870
Around the size of two 45 blowers. I had a picture of a 45 next to a ZG100 and it looked like a monster compared to a 45. I actually have both in sitting in my shop but they are both stuck off in a corner that is hard to get to right now.

45 bower has a 2.5 inch inlet and outlet. ZG100 has a 5 inch for both .

Anyone know why saphire says not to adjust it past 13 hg when the actual blower manual says max is 15 hg?

Horsepower issue maybe? Cant think of anything else it could be.

I would split the difference. Adjust to 14 hg and hopefully you will use it to 10000 hours.
You have enough HP to run it at 15 hg. Really don't think it will hurt the blower or the engine. Do you know the RPM they are spinning the monster at?

How dirty were the carpets Todd? I would imagine that's another factor. I swear by my Roots 68. It's stupid powerful. This was from a 450 ft. Run with a rotovac 360i with upgraded 1.5 flood jets. Didn't skip a beat.

Moderately soiled. Lots of sand and dirt from all the surrounding desert. I do the job once a year.

Overheating the blower max lift is harder on the blower than max cfm
Blower manufacturer isn't going to give you a spec that will hurt the blower, and the manufacturer (the people that make the blower) say it can be ran at 15?o_O i would trust the manufacturer of the blower before I would saphire....truckmounts manufacturer's as a rule don' always look out for our or the component manufacturer's best interests

Does the 870 come with a pumpout, or is it stubbed out for one? The higher lift does affect pumpout rate, certainly SS has a good reason for running it lower.

It is stubbed and pre wired for a pump out, not saying there' not a good reason....just want to know what it is lol
