I have worked professionally as an aluminum welder. I know what I am talking about when I say that the undampened vibration of that little motor spinning at 3000+ rpm is worse than the highly dampened impact on a motorcycle frame.

..........and I raced motocross for about 6 years. I can tell you that the impacts of jumping a motocross bike, pounding through whoops etc. is far more destructive to an aluminum frame than the vibratory buzzing of a truckmount.

I have never seen a distributor discount any of the major brands. In fact, they add this and that, especially if it is being financed. They figure that you are intoxicated in all the glory of getting a new machine and thus, the ensuing cornholing becomes standard protocol. After the fact, you are nothing more than another street walker in the master pimp's kennel.

You absolutely can get a discount @Deron06 im not sure if things changed but i know of two brand new TM purchases in the last six months where the dist came off the msrp a fair amount

Call around and ask. You have to ahow you are serious but they should work w you

I paid cash for both of my truckmounts and didn't get any discounts. although they treated me well in other ways.

I financed but not through dist or manufacturer. Other tm i know of was cash. So its a small sample size but its worth asking/trying anyway

Paying cash should get you a 10 percent discount on the retail sticker. At least it does for me.

I hate to burst your SS bubble but... you do know that the same "engineer" that designed the Thermalwave designed the 870 right? Who ever told you maintenance was easy on an 870, has never worked on one.

Guys paying cash as no relevance to a discount. First of all when you finance its through a 3rd party, yes even with interlink, to the supply house it's a cash deal no matter what.

When you finance the distributor will often get what's called finance reserve on the loan as well.

I always find it humorous when a customer offers me cash like its se benefit to me, I want them to finance for the reserve and ability to sell extended warranties and wrap it in the loan.

Someone who wanted 3.99 instead of 7.99 on their loan I guess. That is their program for now. Just got approval this afternoon on a 1200. Putting it in tomorrow. Or at least starting it.
