for me this move to 2.5 hose was the best move, as we run dual wand two or three times a week.It has greatly reduced dry time and the quality of our cleaning. I have the space to do this you may not have that option. Butt 4 to the door with a 50 ft of 2.5 and a 15 ft 2.0 lead hose will give you more cfm than 2.5 all the way

PS hope you have a good glide on you wand

I really don't see the need for any of it. The largest blower I have is 47. The lift on all my truckmounts range from 12-14 hg lift. This is always enough vacuum to get the job done and I get incredible dry times. I clean long distances as well. The only thing I can think of is that people are using these extra hoses because they are using glides, blowers are small #3, or using a wand that is completely restrictive like an aw29.
I think SunBelt said it best when he says people should look at their cleaning methods and equiptment if you need to use these hoses. If your dual wanding alot then I can see why you may want the extra hoses.
I also have a true 2" wand and a prochem 1 3/4 quad jet. The prochem wand grabs the carpet better than the 2" at every angle . I think it may have to do with the spacing of the lips in relation to the diameter of the tube.

this is crazy...so much emotion for some of the cleaners on here......these people should not be posting....u know who u are....if u buy the right 2.5 inch hose it's not that different then 2 inch.....go to the gym if u cant handle 2.5 inch...secondly assuming both setups have a12 foot whip hose then a standard 100 run for 2.5 inch is 2 50 foot lengths of hose....the 4 to door for same run has 3 50 foot 2 inch hoses and to top it all off 50 of those feet are 1 line of 2 inch. restrictive i would think unless youre doing 2 2 inch lines to youre whip hose.....this is crazy

wouldnt waste my time..go 4ttd...the 2.5 means cost of new hose, connections, another reel since you wont be able to carry as much on your current one as 2 inch, heavy crap to move around....dont bother ...my 2c

If I were cleaning schools all year round, and having to deal with 4 and 500 foot hose runs, I would run 2.5 all the way to my 2 inch wand with a short 2 inch whip.

However, I clean schools one time a year, and do residential with an average of 125' hose runs the rest of the time.

I'll stick with my 2 inch hose.

Thank you very much.

I use 2.5 from my machine to the inline filter right outside the back of my van. I usually have the hose zip tied to the ceiling of the van all the way back also. My 4.8 blower does move a little bit more air this way and my clear filter gets all the condo commandos talking
