I have narrowed down my options to the Recoil 3XPS, Mytee 1005DX and the Ninja. I am looking at 2 3 stage vacs with 500 psi. The Recoil doesn't come with heat but I learning that a propane heater will probably work better as a later addition and will help avoid blowing circuits and burning up the motor.

The Mytee and Ninja's do not offer the auto fill/auto dump options but they do offer heat. Also, they seem to have more of a track record in the industry as far as durability etc.

The Recoil seems to have superior vacuum motor power and the idea of running 100-150 of hose sounds very enticing. Especially with the auto fill/auto dump options.

All this has my head spinning :AddEmoticons04259: With your experience how durable are the Recoils? In general, I'd like to hear some opinions.

Thanks!!

I have a recoil with all the bells and whistles; more than 4000 hours running in 20 months; oter than pump bearing and seals; it is solid. Very strong vacuum, long hose runs; run from the van 99.9% of the time.

IMHO is the best machine made and engineered, built custom to order in the USA.

You can't go wrong. Lotta Recoil owners out there.

peace

I've never used an M5 but I am very impressed with the Recoil 3XPS. Do get a 2HT heater.

If you are sold on the auto pump/auto fill feature I would recommend the M-5. It has a 15 gallon capacity and a high flow 500 PSI pump as well as the dual 3 stage high performance vacs. Also for longer hose runs of 150'-200' it will easily adapt to the vac booster.

I believe there is a distributor/service center in the Detroit area if you would like the info feel free to PM me and you could go in and see the machine for yourself.

Remember that an auto fill is not an electrical option so adding it to any portable is not out of the question IMO. You could also add an auto pump out.

I wouldn't let those sway my opinion on a machine.

for what you'll spend trying to make that portable a truckmount you could buy a good used truckmount.:AddEmoticons04259:

Some good suggestions here Kirby. Have you considered the Titan 230HV advertised over on the left side of this page? It can be ordered with and auto fill/pumpout for around 2K. It has the added advantage of being fully upgradable to a 3 vacuum portable for only a couple of hundred dollars more in future as well, and being stronger than all the other machines. It should be on your list as well.:bigsmiley:

I would look at buying a used truckmount instead of trying to convert a portable into a truckmount. Don't discount the ninjas, I have lots of them and will compare them with anything on the market. I have heat on all of my units as well.

I still have some reservations about all the "claims" of 150 ft and up hose runs with a portable. Talk to EEEEE some night in live chat, he will set you straight.

Now, before some of you die hard recoil people jump in, I would ask...where are the videos of these super portable turned truck mounts? I have asked for over a year now and have yet to see ANY. Anyone up for that challenge?

IMO you cant go wrong with any of the three that you have in mind since they are all good machines. I would just go with the brand that your local supplier carry's and go from there!

Any of the three are good choices and will be a good unit for years to come. Good luck and let us know what you choose!:hi:

Working with of a budget of $3K and under. I appreciate everyone's feedback. Would anyone agree with Ken that the Titan 230HV should be added to the conversation?

I hear that the Ninja's are easy to work on and the Recoils are made about 1 hour from me. I know it won't be difficult to find parts for the Mytee and the Ninja.

Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with trying to get parts or get their warranties honored?

If I you are located in less than a hour from Cross American, i will get a recoil no question asked. Maybe you can ask to Ed if he can make the recoil even more powerful than it is now, Gman a member in here said that he modified his recoil 5 years ago with a 3 3 stages and maybe that is even more powerful.
I am sure Ed Valentine will answer you all the question.
And my question to Ed, Ken or any person from Mytee. Will a 2.5 inches internal plumbing will work better than a 2 inches plumbing for portable or will not make a difference?

Kirby;

It would not be hard getting parts for the Titan machines as well. They do not come from Canada you know.:bigsmiley:

They are made for me in Dallas by Cobb Carpet. They are very experienced in building both TM and portable machines that are very reliable and powerful. They have an excellant parts department and excellant customer service on any parts you need either now or in the future.:AddEmoticons04233:

Locko;

Makes no difference.

2" hose has a flow ability of 500 cfms. The motors it is connected to flow 115 cfms or less. The hose connections are short enough that there is very minimal drag moving that much airflow.:AddEmoticons04233:

Ive had a Ninja in the shop for over five years now and its still going strong running all day long cleaning cars and rugs. Its a workhorse, however, you do need some ability with a wrench as once in a while you will have to replace something. Just dont put acid rinse in it or you wreck the pump. ONce I stopped doing that I have hardly touched the ninja with a wrench.

Dual three stage vacs means no room for a heater, but you could always get an external one down the road. You need 2 circuits to run it, and a third if you get the heater. Not easy to find in any home.
