Sorry it took me so long to reply, I don't always check this forum very often.
I am absolutely loving Customer Factor so far! I tried Razor Sync but unless I was doing it wrong it didn't appear to have the same marketing features such as automatic emails, etc. I just finally got all of my...
Come on Shane, how many of your customers don't use email vs. how many of them will ever pick up a spotter bottle and use it?
I don't really disagree with any of this except the fact that if a business does it's due diligence it should be able to measure ROI at least to a certain degree...
And if she doesn't have a spot is she going to check her email or look at your spotter bottle? In a years time if you send her 1 email per month she will see your brand 12 times for free, how many times is she going to look at your spotter bottle?
Emails are a tool also and cost nothing. There are many other tools that may cost less or may cost more than spotter bottles. Carrying up a newspaper costs nothing so I would suspect you may have a good ROI on that.
All I am asking is "how many of those 1300 customers are you getting because of your free spotters? Wouldn't you want to have some idea of this? If you would still get 1300 customers in a years time without the spotter bottles, why would you want to drop the $2600?
I find it a bit disturbing that business owners and industry leaders would laugh at the idea of keeping track of marketing ROI but hey, if you could keep some ROI records on your spotter program that would be very helpful.
I'm not saying that at all. If it is proven to work I like it a lot. I just would like more than a representative of the company who makes them telling me that it is a good idea. If I can't figure out a way to at least attempt quantifying a ROI, I'm probably not going to spend that much money.
Not if you are a single truck operator but what if you have 5 trucks doing 4-5 jobs per day 5-6 days per week? What if you also use them for 5 around marketing as is suggested by Mr. Toburen and others?
And if handing out less spotter bottles per year is a good idea, wouldn't handing out more be...
I'm certainly not insinuating that the spotter program doesn't work but it doesn't matter if your number is kept in the house if they never use it to call you. I just thought someone would have some good numbers on this by now.
