    Wax on ceramic tile

Best way to clean slate tiles

Thanks Scott. This is post construction cleaning and I’m getting water flipping from the squeegee. This will be a regular maintenance thing and was wondering how to prevent this. If I go diagonal to the tile it doesn’t happen. That’s not always gonna be able to happen. Guess I’ll just have to...

Thanks everybody for the info, they are going to wait until the fall when they close down and then do the stripper and dwell time to get it all up and then apply sealer.

    Sealer or sugar

I’ve already done that; 175 with strip brush and a hand held grout brush and this is where I’m at now. I had a feeling it was old sealer

    Sealer or sugar

Stripper makes it milky and kind of soft. Then it dries to this. Used a couple of high ph cleaners (9-12). They didn’t touch it.

    Stripping VAT

You must keep it wet, never strip dry or u could cause the asbestos to become friable. Friable is the word they use for the dust. Please keep it wet and once u r done stripping get a layer of wax on it as soon as possible.

    Oil stain off of concrete

Thank you for the info. It’s an old building, 60’s or 70’s. Been a grocery store up until a few years ago. Changing it into a new Chrysler dealership. Tile has been removed since last spring. So doubt I’ll have much problems with moisture, plus it me and the general contractor who are doing it...
