Or you can just move up here to Canada! Every day Prime minister trudeau comes out in front of the cameras of our state funded media, and throws out money to the masses from his magic money bag! And now he’s going to ban and “buy back” all of our legally owned guns with our own tax dollars...
Thanks for the advice people, that was quite helpful. And I do apologize for being so late in getting back to this post.
I like the idea of making sure to send an email quote with everything itemized. It shows the value of what they receive and gives you more credibility in general. Especially...
I’ve had this nagging issue for a while. When some clients want to combine multiple services and have say carpets, tile, a couple showers they don’t like seeing the big price of everything added up and then don’t book. However, these same people would have no problem if it was just the tile or...
Thanks for that offer I appreciate it, however I’m up in Canada and the shipping cost would be pretty high so it’s likely not worth it. I’m going to order a new motor.
Thanks for the info Luky, the problem is that the metal is weakened by rust to the point where it’s flexing enough that the impeller blades rub the metal. I tried loosening off the mounting bolts but it’s so flexible that I can’t back it off enough. To get it to stop it’s so loose I think the...
By the housing I mean the bottom of the motor, the bowl shaped piece with the vacuum inlet in it. This piece is crimped on but I think I can remove it.
Are replacements available?
By the housing I mean the bottom of the motor where the vac gasket seats on. The housing rusted out on an 8.4. Other than that the motor is good so I hate to scrap it. Is it possible to buy a replacement housing and if so where do you get them?
Very nice. What did you use for the exhaust pipe that goes from engine to HX, and how does it attach to the engine (or to original exhaust that was on generator?)
Me too Jim. The only reason I thought of using a smaller CFM motor is because you did it years ago with the small booster behind an 8.4 in series. It seems to defy physics but it worked for you.
Yes! I'm glad you get what I'm saying. I agree, the wand gauge thing is ok, but there is too much variation. At least guys are starting to do that now though, for years the only performance numbers used around here were sealed lift and open flow CFM.
Its so simple, guys on here just need to get...
Hello Ed, thank you for that information I did go back and read it in more detail.
What i was referring to in my earlier post was your post #153 on page 8, it sounded like you had tried John's motors in your machines, when I think you were actually using the older 2 stage version of the 6.6.
I...
This is what I would love to see, somebody do a side by side test of LX in series and 8.4 parrallel. Measuring operating lift in the wand as you did earlier, good work by the way.
I've been saying for a while that operating lift is the only way to test, it gives a much better indication than...
When you state you were using the 6.6 long ago, you mean the old 2 stage 6.6 and not the new 6.6 LX single stage we are discussing now, correct?
The two are about as similar as a cantaloupe and a watermelon.
That looks pretty realistic, thank you for sharing that. One thing I would like to see is a comparison of dual 8.4 parallel vs LX series with 100 or more feet of hose. I have a feeling the results would be pretty even in that scenario.
When you do your testing are you testing sealed lift or operating lift? I mean are you taking the reading with the hose or wand completely sealed off, or are you reading lift as you are cleaning (air still flowing through the system)
The other thing to clarify, when we say series we mean you...
I wouldn't say they are fake, there is too much of the story that we don't know. How long was their hose run? The only thing I find hard to believe in that chart is how much more sealed lift the 5.7 has than the 6.6 and 8.4. There is no way that the 5.7 has 243" sealed and the 8.4" only has...
Yes, it does indeed and the lift spec on one LX I’m sure does not look impressive, it’s the high CFM that’s the game changer.
I’d like to specifically know the sealed lift on one LX if anyone has tested it.
That 1.75 GPM flow is impressive, is that using the two aquatec pumps? Did you verify that flow with a bucket test or going by rated specs? Very smart, you are keeping amp draw low to work with those LX motors on 15 amp circuit. It doesn’t take much power to do high flow, it’s psi that requires...
