A list for how to clean different carpet types / fibers

It's good, as long as your techs can identify what fibers they are working with.

    Ductz Franchise Question

A quote from their website: "We’ve discovered that the average cost to clean is room is-you guessed it- 10 bucks!" Disregarding the obvious typo, my question is this...if you've discovered the average COST to clean a room is $10, then why would you CHARGE $10 to clean a room? Furthermore...

Seriously considering VLM - Have some newbie questions

I haven't decided against it, I just can't afford it at the moment. I picked up a TM earlier this year with the plans to have it completely restored but a surprise expense ate up the funds that I had put away to have that done. I've since been busy getting my life back together and now I'm...

Seriously considering VLM - Have some newbie questions

Awesome, thanks for the response guys. I have a water claw flashspotter sitting around that should work like that sos tool. I'll check out that vacaway sample pack as well. Thanks!

Seriously considering VLM - Have some newbie questions

I am making plans to purchase a Mytee Eco-17 machine for residential VLM work. Since I had originally planned on HWE cleaning, my knowledge of VLM is a little short and I find myself trying to cram as much knowledge on the subject as I can. My first step has been getting the process down. If I...

    New Mytee Orbital for $2,195.

Good luck with the OP idea, hopefully you can bring prices down. They really seem to be way too high for what they are. The differences between an OP and a 175 do not warrant doubling the price in my opinion.

It's funny how prophetic this turned out to be, lol

Host Liberator as a CRB for VLM?

Yeah, that was where I had checked. Nothing in yet, but maybe I'll get in touch with sales rep and ask for a heads up when they get one in. What did your refurb units cost you, if you don't mine me asking, @smart n kleen ?

Host Liberator as a CRB for VLM?

I like that idea. So far a quick check of ebay/mytee.com/other distros gave zero available refurb mytee units but I'll be looking at other oscillating machines as well. Anything that will give me good results in both a residential/commercial setting should work.

Host Liberator as a CRB for VLM?

It is definitely quite large. I gave it a spin in the house and found it a bit bulky. Probably better in a commercial setting and I've got a Cimex that would probably be better suited for that task.

    SDS SHEETS!

Thank you for pointing that out. I had no idea it had switched :D

    SDS SHEETS!

Sometimes also referred to as MSDS or Material Safety Data Sheets. Yes, these are a MUST! This is especially true if you have employees, since many states require employees who handle chemicals to have access to the MSDS. I managed a building that handled it's own maintenance, and I was checked...

Host Liberator as a CRB for VLM?

Pro-Tip: I expand my search area to the maximum distance I'm willing to drive for whatever it is I'm looking for. In this case I wound up driving nearly 3 hours. Not a big deal in my minivan Only cost me about $25 in gas. Sent from my LG-D850 using TMF Forums mobile app

Host Liberator as a CRB for VLM?

Craigslist. Got it and a kaivac kaizen for $100/ea. Guy's brother picked them up for free from a business that attempted in-house cleaning but found it wasn't cost effective. They were gonna toss the machines after storing them for a couple years unused. At first I thought the asking price was...

Host Liberator as a CRB for VLM?

Picked up a practically new Host Liberator this weekend for nearly nothing and I'm wondering if it could be used as part of a VLM cleaning process? I imagine using the brushes with the vac to remove loose soil, hair and debris, then applying an encap solution to the area, using just the brushes...

Direct Mail EDDM EDDM Scam EXPOSED!!! Secret {video} by CNN shows USPS Postal Worker Dumping Mail

You're right, I did not know there were other posts with additional information on your position in the matter. I'll have to look them up some time.

Direct Mail EDDM EDDM Scam EXPOSED!!! Secret {video} by CNN shows USPS Postal Worker Dumping Mail

This really has nothing to do with EDDM. While there was no doubt some EDDM mail included in that dump, it wasn't directly targeting EDDM campaigns. Furthermore, there is very little evidence that this is an issue occurring widely throughout the US.

    Ductz Franchise Question

Do you currently own/operate a cleaning business in a different industry? If so, it might serve you better to pursue duct cleaning as an ad-on service vs. a standalone business (with the added franchise fees and royalties). There is so much information available online, it really wouldn't be...

    They're baaaack!

I'm always afraid that if I really screw with these guys they'll send someone to f-ck me up. After all, if they have my number and business type, they can easily have my address too :/ So, probably a good choice :)

    Just supplies

I was speaking a couple weeks ago with a local guy who used to be in the distribution business and he was saying his margins were between 30-40% which seemed to match what I heard from others too. The money was in volume. Sent from my LG-D850 using TMF Forums mobile app

The new Roto-brush beast. Is it worth the investment?

Look up nikro or aire care for some good startup setups. You want a system that achieves at least 5000 cfm. Nikro makes nice portable gas powered units Sent from my LG-D850 using TMF Forums mobile app

Would it be wrong if I charged more than my techs?

I wouldn't push it on the customer if you happen to be there to clean the job (ie, an employee called in sick and you have to cover his shift) , however if a customer calls to set up an appointment and asks if the owner himself can come and personally do the job, you can try and treat it as an...

    I ruined her furniture.?

Did you ask her when she had her carpets cleaned last? Since it's been 2 years since you cleaned them, perhaps she had them cleaned by someone else last year and she has you confused with another company.
