What gross # per year for O/O to sustain success?

Very true. Someone could gross 100,000 a year easy but net they are only doing $40,000.

Questions about cleaning pet urine spots

I'm starting to scrape the bottom of my budget here though. Wetchec can at least get me going and leaves enough to refill a few more things I'm low on.

Questions about cleaning pet urine spots

I just looked those up, actually way more basic than I thought they'd be. I was thinking a $400 - $500 meter. $31 for the WetChec... Not really any good reason to NOT have that.

What gross # per year for O/O to sustain success?

I chose the hard and slow route. 4 years but with a complete restart after 2. I did $32,000 last year after expenses (I think it was $38,000 before), and I am expecting around $45,000 for this year. But I owe less than $6,000 on equipment and if need be I can pay it off from savings. Payments...

Questions about cleaning pet urine spots

Wow, thats great advice, thank you. I'll have to look for a moisture detector. Is there one you recommend or what are some things I should look for in one? When you use it for this purpose do you locate an area of carpet you know hasn't been peed on so you can say this is what it should read and...

Are you prepared for a recession?

Was just talking to someone this morning about this. They have several friends in the trucking industry that got laid off recently do to slow downs. That's a pretty good early warning sign of a coming recession. I'm personally not too worried. The growth I've seen in my business in the last...

Questions about cleaning pet urine spots

So a UV light will illuminate where pets have urinated. Recent stains may be removed to the point that they no longer show under a UV light but older ones may still be visible even after treating with something like Unchained and sub surface extraction. So then how do you know, going into a...

A little help for an odor issue in MY basement

Yes, I'm renting. It's a nice place and we're getting a good deal so I don't mind putting a little money into it for something like this. We are working to get the gutters worked on on one side of the house. They sag right over a window well so in a heavy rain they spill over there with so...

    Employees denting my vans

I only run one vehicle and I try to be careful but it gets dents and dings. I'm not even sure where a lot of them come from. Once or twice a year I'll pop out the dents and paint the scratches and chips in the paint (that's mostly from rocks kicking up on the road) and make it look pretty. See...

A little help for an odor issue in MY basement

I'm in NW Montana. After some heavy rain the other day the humidity hit 52% for a day. It's down to about 20% now. That's with just a box fan running down there. That air circulation seems to be helping a lot. I also have AC going but that's upstairs.

A little help for an odor issue in MY basement

Thanks for the feedback. Generally pretty dry climate and a fair amount draft down there. I guess that's one advantage of an old home, plenty of air flow. But a dehumidifier's probably a good idea anyway. Unfortunately, there are no drains in the basement. Well, that's not entirely true, there...

    Sprayer

I wish the Ryobi 18v sprayer systems reviewed better. The design seems pretty convenient to me and tanks don't cost much. I thought about buying a 1 gallon tank to just be water for rinsing chemical out of the unit after each job. But they don't sound like they last long, especially for what...

BOOST this BOOST THAT...What a CROCK!

Some rinses can be sprayed on the carpet and vacuumed out. I haven't done it this way in a while so I'm not sure the procedure exactly. I think though it was apply your prespray, agitate, and then HWE, follow up by spraying the rinse mixed in a pump sprayer, agitate with a carpet rake, then just...

A little help for an odor issue in MY basement

90 year old basement, concrete walls and floor. Musty as all get out down there. Doesn't seem to be an issue of mold though I wouldn't be surprised if there was once a mold problem. The floor seems to be the primary culprit here. Old, unsealed concrete slab. I'm thinking it needs a good deep...

99 E150 starter just keeps cranking

Friend was over today and that's what he was thinking too. We checked connections at the starter and solenoid and a few other places, those looked good but there is a wiring harness about 3 - 4 inches long that connects from the ignition switch to another harness and that looks like whoever...

99 E150 starter just keeps cranking

Come on over, it's like 65 here right now. I hate working on vehicles. I ended up replacing the solenoid this morning since it's easy to get to. Running for now. Frustrating thing is every time I mess with something it starts fine and goes for a couple days.

Which unit to buy? Would welcome your advice.

For cost effectiveness, I'd use the pressure washer on tile and grout. You can leave it set up in a trailer and run the solution hose into the house. The air hog, I've never used it but have also never heard anything bad about it. Mytee reputation seems to go back and fourth. Some stuff they...

99 E150 starter just keeps cranking

Okay, this ones getting weird. Solenoid checked out so we replaced the ignition switch. Seemed to take care of it. Tonight it happened again and this time we couldn't get it to start without the starter failing to disengage. Had to have the van towed. I'm not sure what it could be. All parts are...

99 E150 starter just keeps cranking

My sister's car did that. She ended up hitting a transformer and got hit with a bill for $25,000 to replace it. Insurance didn't believe the car just died and she was was texting and driving. She argued with them for several years before GM got nailed and had to issue a recall and then insurance...

    Question portable vacuums

nope. It's a good sign to order up a new motor. You can do some stuff to make em last longer but they are on the way out.

This is like Zen for me

Gundlach sealer. Water sat on there for about 10 minutes while we tried to get a good picture.
