Carpet Dyeing Question (Chris Howell, Melody David)

That explains some things to me that I didn't understand before. My simple logic was if bleach damaged it. It must not be solution dyed. I had no idea that most of the things I thought were solution dyed probably wasn't.

Carpet Dyeing Question (Chris Howell, Melody David)

A competitor accidentally used an oxidizer with heat to remove this stain. He sent me this picture. The last picture was the after pic.

Carpet Dyeing Question (Chris Howell, Melody David)

The real test for a dye job is its end result. How long does it hold up? What does it feel like? Will the customer still be happy next month? The largest issue I have with Howells method is two-fold. Much like painting, waxing or sealing a thoroughly prepared surface is required for long term...

Carpet Dyeing Question (Chris Howell, Melody David)

You spoke earlier that you worked for Rainbow International or used their dyes. I may have worked for the CEO of rainbow in the corporate office but I don't recall his name. back in 85 I went to a dye class that lasted 2 weeks. The company was called Guarantee Systems dye and clean. They were...

Carpet Dyeing Question (Chris Howell, Melody David)

It goes deeper than that Rob, I have no ax to grind with you, I don't make fun of you or say disparaging things about you behind your back. If I have something I want to say I will PM you or discuss it out in the open. That same courtesy is extended to Mike, JohnL, Larry and many others. I don't...

Carpet Dyeing Question (Chris Howell, Melody David)

We used to call that color cleaning back in the 80's and yes it worked quite well.

    Polyester Dyeing

My concern with any dye is that it's predictable and reliable. I can't speak on the dyes Howell uses or his new dye for polyester. My dyes are ancient and I question the shelf life each time I use them. I'm leery of buying old stock for that same reason.

    Polyester Dyeing

I don't like Americolor dyes, I think they ruined the market with a poor quality product. My favorite dye was Langenwalter, my second favorite was Chemtex followed by Rit commercial dispersion dye. None of those are available any longer. I think I will try Namco or call Larry and see what he has.

    Polyester Dyeing

My dyes are ancient, do you have a brand that you recommend? I'm accustomed to acid dyes and only do spot dyes nowadays.

    Mytee Eco 13-Lite Orbital

It's like an oreck orbiter on steroids. It's too light for serious commercial work but really shines on residential paired with my CRB. That's a 17 inch bonnet on a 14 inch driver.

    Mytee Eco 13-Lite Orbital

My 14 inch OP from mytee is used to replace my 175. I bought the LT model. It's way lighter 81 lbs than the other models . It doesn't have the larger motor, tank pump and hardware. It cost me around 1300 OTD.

I plan to do more hwe this year. I love the encap process but feel Hwe must be included every other cleaning sometimes less.

    Mytee Eco 13-Lite Orbital

I just got them and will install them this weekend. Lots of projects at home that involve the business and reclaiming turf now that we are empty nesters. I expect it will help but I don't have anything to compare it to except my Oreck orbiter.

    Mytee Eco 13-Lite Orbital

In my experiment. I've learned that it can work for residential carpets IF someone is willing to give it a decent vacuuming the next day. CRB alone isn't good enough with post vac. Neither is the OP. Together it's impressive.

    Ideal local distributor hours?

Open Saturdays is a must. Even if it's 8-2. Convenience sells. Saturday morning is perfect to go stock up on supplies. Look again at your displays. Can they touch it and feel it or should they just rely on the internet? If that's the case why do they need one at all?

    Mytee Eco 13-Lite Orbital

I wanted a larger oreck orbiter. I loved that little thing but I only clean residential. It beat the hell out of dragging my 13 inch hawk 175 with the teeny weeny wheels. It can do a great job for agitation without the need of a 175. My hawk was a strip down model because I wanted it to be...

    Mytee Eco 13-Lite Orbital

Yes, I like it a great deal but I haven't hit the durability mark yet. It lasts at least as long as the ironmans. I'm uncertain but satisfied with the absorption rate of both. The microfibers last longer than the cotton ones on my machine but don't absorb as much.

    Mytee Eco 13-Lite Orbital

Thanks, its kind of abusive to pads. That's the downside. It has the large orbit and it's maybe too light? Overall it blows me away coupled with the CRB. I've spent all of last year learning what I can about the process from the consumers point of view. I cleaned my own carpet with it right...

    Mytee Eco 13-Lite Orbital

Yes, they are my favorite so far, but I do all residential with mine. I'm using the mytee microfibers at 17 inches with great satisfaction. I have one of the new cotton ones from mytee as well. It's holding up just fine.

I think you need both to be honest each one removes a different type of soil.
