How much psi do we really need????

That's an unanswerable question. Each pumps output has to be tested individually. You are happy with your setup, that's great. I had a similar setup and wasn't happy, my test results were very disappointing and nowhere near where I thought it was with my TM. Hose diameter, hose length, pump...

How much psi do we really need????

At 175-200' live reels of 1/4" line assumes a max open flow at 500-600 PSI. This max flow is not attainable through the wand as well....

How much psi do we really need????

Still only 1.75 GPM through the wand, no where near what BS charts say. I drilled out wand parts to get this flow. Hose flow capacity and flow through your wand are two very different things. Why did I do it? Because the equipment can handle it just fine. With some tweaks so can yours.

TM, portable or hand shampoo... I make the most per hour hand shampooing all the fabrics no one else wants to touch. That's where the money is.

How much psi do we really need????

Test your equipment first, you are likely no where near where you think you are.

How much psi do we really need????

I hear you, but on 60 or 80 oz face weight carpet you are just grazing the surface.... On builder grade your killing it at 4 rooms an hour, but I'm not sure we are comparing apples to apples aerotech or not.

Here's what you will find out when you make the switch, 3/8" line holds twice the amount of post pump pressurized water at the same heat. Just think about that for a while....

How much psi do we really need????

We clean carpet, tile and pressure wash. I run a belt drive pressure washer regularly with 3/8" line. I know the difference in results.

ACP, I upset and challenged you to look into this, I did a good thing doing so.... Being pissed off makes you work harder and question everything. I like where you are going with this.

Doesn't account for internal heat exchanger or fuel fired tubing which pays the Piper as well. The chart is more inaccurate than the graph....

How much psi do we really need????

Fedri, I have helped a few members here reconfigure there setups for a few bucks and sometimes double or triple their flow to the wand. I know that you will be more than honest with me if I'm lying.... Whatever time you spend setting up will be saved wanding, I'm sure of it.

If you are judicious with it you will see a return on time spent. Practice on some scraps and learn to adjust wand speed for penetration and recovery. With your new setup slowing down the wand and lifting on the assist handle on the back stroke will pay dividends, trust me. You haven't seen this...

What gross # per year for O/O to sustain success?

What is your cost of doing business per month? What are your living expenses per month? A very wise man once informed me what wealth was and how to get it. If you make 100k per year you always believe 200k a year is wealthy. Nothing wrong with it at all, but wealth is subjective and there...

Charlotte is awesome! A lot of new money and a lot of old money, I prefer the old money. We are literally 60 miles from the furniture capital of the world, if you like making money cleaning textiles you are moving to the right place. I make more money per hour with a bucket, towels and a sponge...

I'm only talking about quality of work and speed at which it takes place, not about "beer money". That's up to every individual if they want to charge appropriately for their time.

How much psi do we really need????

How many cfm's are you going to get through 2" hose and how many GPM through 1/4" line? I know the answer. If we are going to talk about speed of a TM using 1/4" line vs a modern portable using 3/8" line it's a difference worth talking about my friend. If you have the vacuum power to recover...

How much psi do we really need????

Once you bucket test your equipment you can make educated changes. I believe you said that you are running a full 200' live reel with 1/4" line, that's killing your heat carpet cleaning. I ran dual 200' continuous reels and learned a lot about how it robs heat and pump power. If your average...
