what do you REALLY BELIEVE ? ? ?

Keep in mind America's children are being corrupted with communist ideology, anti-Christian propaganda, and sexual libertinism in your media and education (I use that term loosely) system. After 12 years of public school and a heavy dose of Hollywood your children to their own detriment will be...

what do you REALLY BELIEVE ? ? ?

Speaking as a Canadian carpet cleaner, I like your question and your well founded concern that America is slipping into communism. If someone doesn't like that question on a carpet cleaning forum they don't need to read the thread.

Need Help - Rug has been hosed down and smells terrible

I have a wool rug I am learning on and at one point it started to smell. I used a lot of water with my Rotovac to clean the carpet as it was filthy and I noticed early on the carpet was starting to smell a day after I cleaned it. I initially just had a ceiling fan on and an open window to dry it...

Filthy wool rug retains dirt like no other

I agree. The first couple cleanings there is no doubt what I was cleaning was actual sand/ dirt that came from the rug (it was truly filthy). But after reading your post I took a closer look at the grains under the rug and it is definitely a fine particulate from the backing of the carpet. The...

Filthy wool rug retains dirt like no other

Thank you. Simple Green is PH 8.5, it didn't seem to damage the rug. I used hot water, but did not use my internal heater, so I don't think the water was not much hotter than 150 F actually. I looked under the rug and I would agree with a couple of the earlier posters. I think washing the back...

Filthy wool rug retains dirt like no other

For me this is truly fascinating. I never knew a natural wool rug could be so aggressively cleaned and could still hold so much sand. The rug seems very clean on top as I have repeatedly vacuumed and slowly hot water extracted the rug so many times. The attached picture of the sand is from...

Filthy wool rug retains dirt like no other

Yes, I notice the backing is looser, I actually reglued some of the rug, I am keeping it as a personal rug so I can experiment, I am finding Gorilla glue works great on the backing.

What do you do when you get a carpet that you keep getting dirt out of?

Yes!!!!! I strongly recommend Rotovac 360i or if you want to spend a little more the larger Rotovac 360 xl. I bought the smaller one as it is more handy for my house calls, but the larger one would likely do a job like yours a little faster.

What do you do when you get a carpet that you keep getting dirt out of?

I think a Rotovac 360i would help. That is what I use and it seems on carpets like yours, I only need to go over it twice slowly with hot water at 250 psi and the carpet is clean enough to satisfy the customer.

Filthy wool rug retains dirt like no other

I have a Carpet Pro, upright commercial vacuum, it extracts some sand each time I vacuum it, but you are right most of the sand comes out with vibration and gravity.

Filthy wool rug retains dirt like no other

Thank you Tom Forsythe for sharing your insights. I have attached a picture of the rug. I wish I took earlier pictures of the rug as this picture does not share the whole story. As you can see the colour of the rug is olive green. When I first rolled out the rug it was a dark greenish brown. I...

Filthy wool rug retains dirt like no other

I found a natural wool rug 11 X 7 feet that was absolutely filthy with a "Free" sign on it about 3 months ago while walking in my neighbourhood. Being a professional carpet cleaner the filthiness of the wool rug did not intimidate me at all and indeed I thought the clean would be a challenge and...

Used my Rotovac 360i for first big job & got big headache

I am sold on the Rotovac, easier and better clean for sure. I think I will also take wandwizard's advice and think about a couple portable fans. Never needed them in low humidity Alberta, but here in BC I can see things don't dry as quickly.

Used my Rotovac 360i for first big job & got big headache

I just took the IICRC carpet class 2 weeks ago (here in Canada we don't have the TMF one unfortunately). We covered carpet fibres and chemicals, as well as sales and customer satisfaction. This issue did not come up in my 2 days of classes, but I sure appreciate hearing from you guys. It doesn't...
