Whoa... FYI: Window films for tint or heat reduction can be damaged instantly with ammonia. Not trying to stir anything up here... ammonia has a place in the WC'er arsenal but it will give the user a reason to be concerned when he hits the wrong glass with such a strong mixture.
It can also damage many window treatments and frames upon contact. No offense is meant to Rickie. The mixture is a similar one I have used many times in the past. Just issuing caution here.
I use ammonia ONLY when the windows are covered with tar/nicotine and I always wash with fresh water after. If you cant use a razor you cant use ammonia.

Good response Phil.... Except the part about "If you cant use a razor you cant use ammonia." By today's standard's... that would be, only on annealed glass. Shall we start with those explanation's?Whoa... FYI: Window films for tint or heat reduction can be damaged instantly with ammonia. 5 gallon bucket, add a splash of ammonia,(about 2 onces) and a good squirt of joy dish soap, fill the rest with water and you should be good to go. I used that mix in my window cleaning business for 5 years. Phil's caution is true, but for 99.99% of residential windows it will be fine. You can Use just the soap and leave out the ammonia on tinted, if you want. Get #0000 grade steel wool to scrub real tough spots, much safer than a blade, Never use a blade on tempered glass if you can help it.

Mainly the part about "...no razor no ammonia..."
I was referring to tinted glass not fab debris. He did not ask about fab debris. All types of glass may be tinted...not just annealed.

Thanks Guys - I am off to the LAB to mix a Brew!!!!
Makes me think of old time Soda Shops! Miss Those:<

All I ever use on windows is a little bit of Palm Olive dish soap mixed into a gallon of water. I've got a friend who does about $1.5 million worth of window cleaning each year this way in very high end homes.

Hi,
Thanks to every one..As i am in search of this kind of information, the responses you provided are of great use to me..
Thank you

as rick mentioned here all you need is a little bit of good dish washing soap
