whats your water damage min & do you ask for a deposit?

whats your min price and do you ask for a deposit.... what I really want to know is when you ask for a deposit? and do you carry a credit card machine with you?

My minimums are based on exactimate, I cant remember doing a job for the minimum

No deposit and depending on the Ins company no deductible the night of the loss

We have the ability to run CC on the lap top but it is rare maybe 2-3 people a month.

$250.00 minimum and that is COD on the first day if its a very small loss. If we are working with the insurance company we get the deductible on the last day of service. I can run a credit card over my cell phone in seconds.

Usually we liked to have a insurance activation payment (deposit) or co-payment that was equal to their deductible. Once they paid this amount the insurance coverage would come into force if it was a covered loss.

We did the credit cards over the phone, but today I would probably carry a card reader and a wireless conencted computer.

It is always easier to collect when they are standing ankle deep in water then after everything is returned to the original condition.

This is really for Jim Delamarter.... do you guys never get called for really small jobs??? and if the ansswer is yes you do get those calls... do you turn them down? and if you dont turn them down what is the smallest job in cost have you done??? just courious.... i get calls a lot for small jobs... i haver a$500 min... which does not cover much... you rent 1 DH AND 5 air movers and add the service call and hell thats about $500 but...... they think thats too high.... and some of the jobs are very small....

I get calls for really small jobs of course...and we have to perfrom like it is a big job....you never know when it will turn into a big job, or who they know. I have lost money on plenty of sub 1000 dollar jobs....but I also recently turned a 190 dollar job into over 20,000 of on going mold work at a facility and it could reach six figures over the next couple months

So like you said you have no min price... if you go and just suck water up you charge a service charge and the xtmate charge for extracting water if you leave 1 air mover and 1 Dh for one day thats the price so its its 250 bucks its 250 bucks
