    Oreck OP Machine - Lowboy

I have never seen this one before tonight. I've always heard and seen the Oreck Orbital, which is a 12" or 13" OP machine...but the Lowboy is 19" and retails under $1,000. Weight is about 75lbs. Even has vacuum ports, which are made for sanding...but could possibly help pull some dirt out.

    Anyone use one of these?

I owned one years back - it's really designed for hard floors, not carpets. The handle locking/release mechanism was complete junk. Maybe they've changed it? The motor would overheat and shut down. Finally, it was not smooth at all - very much the jackhammer effect. I would literally buy any other OP machine before buying the LowBoy.

I agree with Jeff. I too owned a Low Boy. Great machine.....For floors. And ya know what?.... That's what theyt're designed for. I did not care much for the thing on carpet. The little Oreck orbitor 550C is GREAT though. I own 2 of them. LOVE UM!
