    Orbit-Clean,

Yes I do use a Glide on my SD, one of Greenie's.

    Cosway,

Please, I work with 4 women, believe me, they run the show and I am just the one that does what they tell me. I have found women outwork most guys and the detail and quality is often better. On top of that, most of our customer base as an industry is women and women love to see women in their home. For me, it gives us a lot of credibility for the types of homes we work in.

Here are a couple of examples and the detail they bring to this is great

The group I work with does a great job. I want equipment that is easy to work with, I want it to be easy for the workers I have, which happens to be women. That is all I meant by my comments.

While the woman is pretty I do not know anyone that successfully uses the sponge/CRB method. I have seen it used on my next door neighbors carpet 10 years ago and it was pathetic. This basically as I understand it is the Host method. Most of the CRBs that I have heard of on the boards are all used as agitators,

Your question on Op vs Cimex
I have an op machine and a 175 rpm buffer. They are not even close to doing the same thing. The OP is amazing in how it works the individual fibers. The 175 is a grinder.

I also have no doubt the Cimex is an outstanding agitator and it will do a lot more carpet per hour than the op to my understanding. Nobody seem to talk about it because it is so heavy to move and mainly thought of a commercial unit.

Another note on the CRB, it appears the Oxiclean method of cleaning is CRB with prespray and vacuum? Around here they are driving the Chrysler Neon Wagon--called the PT cruiser.

What customers are you going after?

A 15" Cimex is fairly easy to operate and move around in a residential area, use it on all of the residential we clean, also use the CRB machine on all residential.

A 19" machine is heavy but I also used one for almost 15 years in residential as well as commercial until I decided the 15" was just as effective and easier to move around with, for my purposes. Do not discount a Cimex too quickly, quite a machine.

Here is a rug that has been cleaned in this home with a Cimex

Here is a rug being pile brushed before being cleaned with a Cimex

I will have to get some shots of the Cimex from my other hard drive but I think this gives a good idea.

The CRB machines are the only machine that are approved by the Carpet mills not to void warranties! The Cimex is one of the best machines to product the numbers that make the $. Also it has been tested not and proved that it does not damage carpets with Releasit DS and Fiber Plus pads. You can gett a certificate from ExcellentSupply.com. I would suggest both but if you have to pick just one the Mex is the best choice. If you are worried about maneuverability you can get the big boy wheel kit! Makes it easy to take up stairs!

    id recommend the Orbot personally

    can op if needed,
can use a fiberplus pad and achieve the same speed results as the cimex
and if extra agitation is needed, you can simply add a weight kit to the orbot to match the weight of the cimex!, without having to lug all that weight around all the time.

its a much more versatile machine, plus folds down pretty darn small.

i do res and comm with mine, be quite worried to lug the cimex into someones house lol...

Op to rotary is night and day.
when i was experimenting with encap initially i started with the rotary, and after finding how much i loved it bought a few op machines.

2 weeks ago I tested Cimex and OP side by side.
You should try it some time.

I will not post the results here. PM or e-mail me.

i have, in fact last weekend actually...again, on 3 different types of commercial carpet

as long as you prescrub with fiberplus first on commercial, then follow up with OP.
straight op without prescrub is ..meh

also depending on which OP will MASSIVELY change the results.

    Re: Cimex vs. OP machine?

Dustin seems to "get it" not all OP's are created equal, contray to popular belief and competitor comments, OP's clean at different speeds.
Oribt tech and CCS both have high speed machines, the clean MUCH faster than HOS or Challenger, this is not a SLAM of any kind as both of those machines are good machines, however they clean SLOWER and that is simply a fact.

    Re: Cimex vs. OP machine?

I would love to see a fast one in action. Do they clean better? because the slow ones seem to have more problems than just being slow.

    Re: Cimex vs. OP machine?

I have a new patented Trinity machine coming out in the next couple of weeks, it is the first "three speed" OP machine, the SLOWEST speed is what is now our standard HIGH SPEED, it is incredible at padcapping, and cleaning carpet, tile, stone, brick, concrete, wood, etc. It comes with three heads, one for carpet cleaning and encapping, one for stone, tile, concrete and brick and another patented head with a rug beater for beating orietal rugs.

It isn't for eveyone, it is expensive, but it is for the cleaner who wants to make a LOT more money in OP cleaning. It will be $4500.00

    Re: Cimex vs. OP machine?

$4500 is cheap considering how fast a smart person can make that back. There is no faster (legal) way to recoup your investment.
