Do you groom after encapsulation process w/Cimex?

I think the swirls look cool but we usually rake after finishing. How do you guys or do you groom after encapsulating??

We also use the 360 and on one job we did, We didn't groom after and yeah it looked "cool" but when we went back to clean their house a month later it dried with the swirls like that. Let me tell you it was very hard to get them out. I had to go around the whole house and groom it by hand to get them out. We will never leave another carpet cleaning job without grooming afterward.

When using Cimex its generally on CGD no grooming, most like the swirls if and when they are present, if I think they will be hard to remove I'll vacuum it.

Rob I don't use my Cimex for residential. I do always post vacuum with OP system, no exceptions.

    Hey Rob

Are you getting good results on dirty residential carpet with just the cimex ?

or do you post bonnet ?

that cimex seems like a great machine . I was wondering how it would work as a stand alone for residential encaping ?

Do you ever get fiber distortion with the Cimex on residential ?

Always groom everything after cleaning. If I am using the Cimex alone, always groom the residential, always. Even many berbers will look better with grooming.

The Cimex does not distort the yarns or fibers. Anytime one is using any agitation with carpet, the need is there to be sure the yarn is properly lubricated.

I have a student in KS that has started a franchise with encapping residential only and seems to be doing fairly well with it. I personally like to extract after any cleaning but when needed I ahve had pretty good success with encap on residential. Of course, I always pile brush and vacuum the carpets before I clean them, encap or combination of encap and HWE.

    Orbit-clean,

I am sorry to say I really do not remember but I would lean toward the CRB Machine, if memory serves me correctly but I am not totally sure.

The CRB Machine works great but it simply does not perform like the CImex. I use the CRB all the time but mostly for pile lifting before I vacuum and when the job requires more than one machine.

Here is a clip showing the CRB as a pile lifter. When this is done before vacuuming and before cleaning, the results are just great and it makes the job so much easier, (simply following the IICRC S-100 Standards).

If you can see the first few seconds, this is the entry of a restaurant in a country club, notice how nice it lifts the nap and how nice the appearance is just from pile lifting, this really helps with the final results.

With this, add a very thorough soil suspension and extraction and you have a great cleaning that will look great now but also stay great looking because we have removed so much dry particulate soil.

Well guys experience definently shows in this thread.

Machines like the Sebo or other prescrubbers are also great post cimex groomers; makes it look like you vacuumed plus the swirls won't dry to be a hard brush like bristle feel to it!!

    i post " groom " with a cheap vac

    few reasons why...

    1. Picks up debris that cimex/OP brings up from the bottom of the fibers

    2. Closes the carpet fibers back up and resets the yarn for proper drying

    3. grooms the carpet for that fresh clean look
