    A little encap advice

I've never used my Cimex instead of HWE for cleaning restaurants. I am anxious to try it out but I am worried about not getting the results that the owners are used to. I'm thinking of trying the Cimex out on two to start.

One is an upscale restaurant with an older cgd dark red carpet that gets tough ground-in greasy black traffic areas. The other is a Chinese restaurant that has a popular buffet and gets lots of traffic and spills on the green cgd. I have always had to use Powerburst to get these two looking good. I hit both every 5-6 weeks and usually only need additional spotter chems for gum.

If I use the 19" Cimex with pads and Hotknife in between HWE 3-4 times a year, is it likely the results will be just as satisfactory?

Also, I usually mist fabset afterwards to reduce ph and help prevent spotting. What do I use to accomplish this with the Cimex/Hotknife?

    Thanks for any advice.

I encap with a Cimex and Hotknife on some commercial accounts we do. I also HWE some restaurants.

I just don't think the Cimex/Hotknife combo is going to give you the results you need, especially on that Chinese buffet place. Its hard to beat Powerburst on tough greasy traffic lanes especially with the heat cranked up during the HWE. Think of it this way, you need to break the grease down and then pull it out of the carpet. If you Cimex it, you are breaking the grease somewhat, but you are not pulling it out of the carpet until the encap dries to a crystal and gets vacumed up. Lets face it, even if the restaurant staff does a good vacume job (which I doubt they will), you will still be leaving a tremendous amount of grease in the carpet. I love Hotknife, but I just don't think it was designed to take care of restaurant conditions.

    Just my opinion tho....

    Cimexed

I'll try and upload some pictures of a resturant I did originally HWE and switched to Cimex because the padding was just packed with crud and never got as good of results with HWE as I did with Cimex I used Fiber max pads, ReleaseIt DS, Prespray heavy traffic with ReleaseIt Punch and HOTTT water. 1 wet pass and 2 dry passes. I took before and after pictures and showed to owner, and told him I could continue with same results but the difference in price required addtional $30.00, not a problem.

    The photos show awesome result.

Jeff, will you ever HWE the place again or are you rather sure encap/cimex will keep the carpet looking that good?

I must say the carpet looks very good.

I have used DS but not a cimex...I hwe my restys now but I also use a serious oxy booster, and 220* water, teflon glide, and 550 PSI

I get better results now than I personally did with encap.

Use all of the tools at your disposal and get that crud out. Use the cimex to prescrub, not encap, to restore the carpet. Then see what you can do.

My Cimex is only 2 weeks old and I can not put it away. I did a carpet restoration job at a sasuage plant this week, heavy grease encrustation on 20 year old carpet.

I used enzall prespray and cimexed with red pads as a pre scrub then extracted. I hope to encap it next month. We were the hero of the day.

I have 2 restaurants where we use Cimex and Releasit DS...the managers just love us and love the results as do we.

If you must use both, you HWE first then Cimex/Releasit.

If you only use the Cimex to scrub in your enzyme prespray then you are not getting the most out of your Cimex.
