Hey guys,
Have a few CGD jobs coming up pretty soon and would like to encap them. We will be using the 175 to do the encap. So my question is, what is the best bonnet, brush, or pad to use for the 175? Link would also be helpfulThanks

Consider how tightly woven the carpet is, the soil level, type of soiling and whether the pile is loped or cut-pile.
For low pile commercial glue down with short, dense pile I would suggest beige floor buffing pad. For any deeper pile, I like the cotton bonnets. The bonnets with the green polyester "X" are a compromise.

for me bonnet pad always cottons.
for brush it is called adjust a glide. there are others but i can't remember the brand, maybe from malish, it has a stainles stell adjustable glide and realy soft brush.
ohh I remember there is another really good brush with dampers or springs from apa the same company as nilfsik.
from malish check the bonnet drivers and pads really good also.

Thanks for the info guys! We have tried the pads and bonnets but only scrub in our prespray. We are gonna try and start pushing the whole encap thing a lot more in the future.
Does anyone know where we can find a good deal on bonnets or cotton pads on bulk? Thanks again!

I use the dirt napper brush with micro fiber bonnets works excellent.

Would have to Agree with Scott the Beige floor pads are going to give you you best agitation. The Fiber Plus pads @ excellentsupply.com will last anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 sq ft per pad!

While a good quality pad may last 5000 to 10000 sq ft (the size of a couple commercial jobs) a good quality brush like the one I have been using daily for the last 8 years could go 1,000,000 sq ft before you start thinking about replacement and gives excellent agitation. I think I paid $100 for it. You do the math.

The question is which will preform better. The pads distribute the solution by absorb it and they scrub the carpet more thoroughly because you have more surface contact. The brushes dump the solution on the carpet and push it around. If you have a sprayer you will not see the difference as noticeably. If you have a tank on your machine it will be much more noticeable, in some cases causing streaking! Now if you are cleaning Residential I would prefer a brush because they can be gentler. It is all a matter of personal preference in the end!

Great Thread,
Thanks,
Rick
