    Oreck Rotary

Does anyone know if these things are any good? My vacuum guy says that the vacuums suck, and not in a good way. There is a influx of the oreck rotary machines on ebay and I was wondering if they were any good.

They look kinda lightweight to me. I'm not sure they would stand up to contnued use and getting banged around in the van. Just my opinion though.

You are right. I think they only weigh 20-30 pounds. That's not near enough *** for the job.

My WWII era Pullman weighs 110 and I still put about 50 pounds on it for marble etc...

Maybe if one could figure out how to ride it... then it might work.

I use the Oreck buffer with a carpet brush and it does help to agitate the dirt out of the carpet. I then extract .
I like it becuase it is not that heavy.
    It works for me.

If you are talking about an Oreck Orbiter, they are great little machines, but only good for small jobs, stairs, etc. They work, but it is only a 10" machine so you can't make a lot of time with it. I've had 2 and they don't last forever in commercial use, but if you can pick one up cheap, you'll enjoy having it for a little scrubber or encap machine.

My wife bought one without me knowing when she bought a new vacuum cleaner, because it was basically free and the Oreck saleswoman pitched it well to her. Anyways found it to be useless in the house so I started using it as machine agitation on tight homes. It has worked pretty darn well and it is a ton easier than pulling out the 175 for every job especially where spaces are tight. Like already mentioned the head is only about 10" wide.

Bottom line decent little machine that can be used for rotary agitation on small jobs.

I also use one as a carpet pre scrubber. Works well and is very lightweight.

    Re: Oreck Rotary

They are great for prescrubbing resi traffic areas and steps. If you encap they are great for ecapping steps with the bonnett and you can also use them to quickly encap recouring spots.

They are a real money maker. as since they are so light it's easy to bring it in to almost every job.
