    Encap chems

Just picked up my first Cimex this weekend. It's a 19" and I'm looking forward to trying it out. I've looked through previous posts and it seems that some of you prefer either Hot Knife or Releasit for encapsulation cleaning. I've got a big encap job lined up in June and a bid in on another. I want to order some chem and get used to the machine and process.

You guys still favor Hot Knife, Releasit, or something else?

    Thanks for the advice?

I like Hot Knife. You are going to love the Cimex man. It is so fast and easy.

Have fun with it and be sure to post some before and after pics.

Thanks for the Hot Knife Recommendation. I don't think these Cimex/Encap pics will be that impressive because the carpet isn't all that soiled. If I win the bid for their other, older buildings they will probably produce goods pics.

I know this is an older post but I thought some may like to know that Hot Knife is an awesome cleaner for sure. BUT so is Steve's Encap Green.

I mention this because Encap Green is a very safe alternative and is green. For some time now all I did was VLM/Encap and have used all of the stuff by Rick, John and Steve. For me, I found the encap green was as good as all of them and better than most. It requires a little dwell time for the rat nasties.

Just before I decided to pull my porty out of storage and beef it up a bit, all I had on the truck was encap green and assorted spotters.

Mixed at the stopping ratio it is also a wonderful spot chem for those hard-to-get spots.

and it was safe enough to feel comfortable when using on carpets that little feet would be running on.

I cleaned a some carpets in a factory today for a guy who had just bought it. The previous tenants were engine re-builders, so there was a fair amount of oil and grease on the carpets. Hit it with the cimex using Releasit DS and it came up a treat. All of the oily marks gone. The owner was amazed, he thought that i would never get them clean. I have only ever used Releasit with the cimex, there maybe be some other good products out there, but when I keep getting amazing results with it, why bother trying something else. Stick with the old saying, if it ain't broken, don't fix it.
