    Help! Got some new equipment.

So my fiancee grandmother had this in her garage and wanted it gone.

So now its mine can anyone tell me what all i can do with this buffer?

Can it be used in carpet cleaning?

And what are the different pads and chemicals used for?

    Check the attachments for pictures.

looks like a 17" swingarm used primarily for stripping or buffing vct tile floors. the black/blue or the coarser pads are used for stripping old floor finish, the red/tan pads are for buffing or polishing, green pads are for scrubbing. you use the stripper to strip old floor finish, the neutral cleaner to neutralize the tile before applying your finish coats. i'm not a tile floor guy but i hope this helps

Many uses for that floor machine if you have the proper pads and brushes for it. Could be used for VCT floor stripping and polishing, wood floor cleaning, carpet agitation. even stone care.

The gallon jugs are floor finish and stripper for VCT tile. BE careful. If the finish is too old, it may do more harm than good to put it down on a floor.

The pads are for VCT (tile) floors. White is for putting a polish on the floor. The darker pads are for scrubbing. In general, the darker the color of the pads the more aggressive they are. Some of the pads more be worn enough that they could be tossed away. Hard to tell from a photo.

I used the same buffer for carpet cleaning with Chem-Dry years ago...that's probably a $900 buffer...and of course, you can use to pre-scrub tile/grout, and vct....

If it's a 175 rpm machine it'll spin a bonnet too. You could even add a tank to the handle to gravity feed solution through the machines deck if you wanted. I wouldn't bother ... if you want to bonnet clean just spray ahead of the machine and do your pads in a mop wringer.
