Question Encapping/OP Cleaning has been around for how long?

When was encapsulation and OP cleaning started?

Which company and what were the names of the cleaning machines?

The first OP type cleaning machine I knew of was from Argosheen (AKA as Ed York's BAM machine.) This was in the mid 1970s.

Shampoos that would form a brittle residue were called encapsulation cleaners as far back as 1960. However, the technology most of think of us encapsulation was first developed in the early 1990s and has been continually improved. So today's encapsulation is much different from that of years past.

Rick Gelinas was one that popularized the term "encap."

I was useing a version of it while with Servicemaster in the early 1980's - same crystalization theory , we was simple back then and called it shampooing ( with a rotary and tank , of course.
