    RX20 on Carpet Tiles

I have read that using the RX 20 on Tiled Commercial Carpet is a "no-no", can any of you provide some first hand advice. I dont want to try it for fear of damaging the tiles, but I also dont want to leave productivity on the table if it is possible to use it.

In theory the RX won't damage the tiles, but if there are any with loose edges or something it could displace them.

However, I'm assuming if you are cleaning carpet tiles it is a commercial application, which probably means no pad. That may be why you've heard not to use the RX--not because it will damage the carpet tiles, but because without pad a rotary machine may not keep a good flat seal. I'd wand it.

I do them all the time with my RX and have never run into a problem. If you think there will be a potential problem use glides. Always pre-qualify.

Grab a set of glides for it.
I know Ken Harris makes glides for the RX

Just bought a set of glides for one of our RX's and it runs phenomenal·y better. I highly recommend them.

The other thing to consider is if your RX has the 5 jet head be careful you don't put too much water down. Once the water gets under the tile and mixes with the dust/soil you will have an odour problem.
Thats why i now find the SLIDES better for cleaning carpet tiles. You have the slot Slide for general cleaning and the washboard slide for heavy soiled areas. You can swap and change them as you go. The tiles don't move around with the Slides and you have control of how much moisture is put down.

I use the words "may", "maybe", "might", "could", etc. because I understand every case is different. I have used the RX and RDM on commercial carpet myself, but it doesn't always work. Especially in older structures with uneven concrete floors.

Not sure what the "always pre-qualify" comment means.
