what u guys think is better....encap or dry powder compound when using with portable CRB machines

Not to hijack this thread, but what about using them in combination for dirty carpets?
Would it be possible to apply an encap product, then use the dry compound?

I read that one guy has used Host and releasit hydrox with pretty good results

I have used both but never tried them together. I had much better results with encap cleaning. Encapuclean Green DS is the best.

yes i have heard of a few guys using both products together
seems interesting
put down host then spray encap over top
host by it self doesn't hold a candle to encap IMO
correct me if im wrong but are there not some tests out there proving that host is carcinogenic

Dustin, I have no clue where you heard about Host being carcenogenic the stuff is about as safe as it can get, has a 0 health rating, no hazardous ingreadients listed in the MSDS- http://www.hostcarpetcleaning.com/ca.../MSDS_HOST.pdf . In any case I would be interested to know where you heard that.
Also just to clarify the effectiveness of the Host cleaner has as much to do with a proper pre-treatment as anything much like with HWE or any other cleaning method. The Host compound does not perform very effectively on it's own. What i have been doing is instead of using a more conventional pretreatment like the one from HOST or ones from Bridgepoint I use the Encap cleaner, I perfer the Realsit Hydrox but other brands can be used, I like that one the best though so far. The encap product is applied first and brushed in w/ the Host extractor vac and then the dry compound is applied to more heavily soiled areas to help provide a deeper cleaning.

ya ill definitely look into it Darron, after reading that msds it doesnt seem possible to be carcinogenic lol
ill keep you posted...![]()

Brush and Clean promotes that type of cleaning methodology. The process is to first put down a pretreat then use the power Sponges to absorb the solution and the dirt. Some have incorporated Encapsulating solutions as the pretreatment! I personally have not tried the process so can't give my opinion on the process!

encap

Well, For what I know, the best way to go is using them together. Have you guys heard about a company Brush and Clean? They are similar to Host or Whittaker but have an interesting system that uses both encap and dry powder compound.
Check out their website and let me know what you think. I'm trying to figure out which one is better for my business...
